50% off Rubik's Cube $9.50 @ Coles

380

Spotted the Rubik's Cube amongst Coles Christmas toy price reductions. My local store had multiple remaining within what remains of the Christmas section.

Originally $19, now $9.50.

It'll look great on the shelf next to your pack of UNO cards, an OzBargain essential. Happy hunting!

If you have any interest in actually learning how to do the cube quickly, please don't buy this. You can get a speedcube online for about this or not much more that will be much better. Check the subreddit for some suggestions on which ones.

I agree. Most Chinese ones are better and can be very cheap

Yeh these are actually terrible to use.

  • These aren't actually that bad if tensioned and lubed properly, they just get a lot of s**t because there are budget 3x3 cubes which will feel a little nicer with the same work, that cost a lot less than this does at full price.

$9.50 isn't a bad price for a cube anyway, just a few dollars more than the popular budget cubes so don't be discouraged from getting this if you want a cube to practice on or are just starting out. (Top cubers could still solve with this cube in ~8 seconds consistently and kick everyone's ass on this post using 'better' cubes haha).

    • it's pretty hard to get sub 30 seconds on this one, no way a person with any consistent interest should be using Rubik's.
Good gift or a starter 1 minute option - easy go and buy in store

Get a speed cube… even $10 for this is not worth it.

I usually get mine at speedcube.com.au

    • People spend $88 on a cube! We should call those people cube nerds and throw 3d objects at them.

How easy is it to stick the stickers back on?

    • +1

Ha. Did that as a kid. Even then I think I only did half the job and left it still incomplete.

Was gonna buy this, ended up buying a speedcube per the other comments, Had no idea speedcubes were so cheap, $13 shipped for what is apparantly the best "Budget" speed cube

    • What did you end up choosing?

      • QiYi Warrior W

  • Marking this expired, I doubt there will be any stock remaining now given the Christmas sections have pretty much reduced to nothing.
