Nutella has ….. oh bugger Op beat me to it.

    • buy 20 bottles, save $100 and use them to cure your diabetes. absolute bargain!!

      • Cure, or cause?

The 30% fat is palm oil, by the way.
        https://www.sbs.com.au/news/explainer-what-is-palm-oil-and-w…

Not as bad as some make out, but peanut butter is probably a lot healthier. (unless you are overweight)

Palm oil is obtained from forests that house tigers that are being pushed out of their natural habitat and losing their homes.

          • @lordra: deforestation is true but there is a story of The Palm Oil Dilemma

The paradox lies in palm oil being a very efficient crop. It is six times more productive than its nearest vegetable rival oil using less land and growing faster. In addition, more than half the imports to the EU are used for biodiesel, replacing diesel from fossil fuels. Brendan May outlines the dilemma of palm oil and calls for action from various quarters.

ban palm oil will only push up demand on other oil.

      Doesn't have a notification led …

  • That is cheap. Use to get the 750g from woolies for $5 when on sale.

With all the ham left over from Christmas I'll be having a few Nutella and Ham toasties. Works well with bacon too.

Coming to an inner west Sydney cafe near you soon…

    • Elvis would have approved.

      • I must admit that I have tried peanut butter, jam and bacon before. Simply amazing.

        • Have you tried ham wrapped in bacon? That is maybe the best thing I've ever tried.

          • +1

@pennypincher98: YES! Spice it up and stick some pineapple slices on there too :)

            • @Clear: OMG that sounds like the best idea ever!! I've got a few leftover pineapple rings and still a shitload of bacon when Woolies was clearing it out, so definitely will give it a shot!

              • @pennypincher98: It's like a Hawaiian pizza minus the dough.

                • +1

                  @Clear: That's amazing!
Speaking of dough, found a cheat way to make dough with just a cup of natural yoghurt and SR flour :)

                  • @pennypincher98: You can also make an easy naan that way.

                    • @Clear: Naan is too complex for my skills haha, anything above 2 min noodles is an accomplishment.

Will keep it in mind though!!

                      • @pennypincher98: You must be the best at making 2 minute noodles and microwave eggs.

                        • @Clear: Yeah I'm actually heaps good at cracking eggs now thanks to that!

Sugar and oil never tasted so good

  • +1

Well this should balance out the sweetness nicely in the chocolate hot cross buns which are due any day now.

    • I gotta agree - that is a fantastic combo!

  • OP are you fpsrussia ?

Don’t forget to check the best before date when buying.

My local store (Chermside) had jars in the traditional design that were either very close to the best before date (Jan 19) or past it. The ones in the new ‘unique’ design are good till August 19.

    • Ditto for the Robina store in QLD

  • Nutella - The nectar of the gods

  • Thanks OP , bought two at top ryde, they had a special edition at the same price,

  • Thanks OP! I bought 2 to stock up!

  • We bought three - and just had a message advising us that the order was cancelled and we would be refunded.
    WTF?
The message didn't say if it was an error, or an issue with the store.
I am trying again for two from a different store - see how we go.

    • They probably ran out of the christmas one? I noticed there were normal price one and discounted one when i purchased mine

    • I got a call from my selected store earlier. They said the christmas special was unavailable and asked if I wanted a normal stickered product. Got the pickup email about half an hour later.

      • Wow - actual customer service. I am amazed.

    • This happens sometimes when the stock on hand levels are incorrect. It will let you order the product online even if the store doesnt have it in stock…

    • And got another cancellation from a second store with no real explanation.
These guys suck for customer service.

  • Is the jar made from glass or plastic?

    • +1

The 1kg tub is plastic. The 200gr christmas edition was glass jars last time I checked. Still waiting for those glass jars to be discounted as they look cute :)

  • Got a couple last night 5 mins before closing (Brickworks SA)! btw all the 1kg tubs are half price even though they weren't marked on the shelf!

  • All the Christmas ones were sold out at my store, but the normal ones with an expiry date of 19/11/19 were the same price for the 1Kg jars, so I bought two.

    Thanks OP!
