Is This The End of The Long Running 5% eBay Discount?

So New Years has come and gone and while eBay UK and others around the world have celebrated with Sitewide discounts, eBay has expired all 5% and buy 1 get 1 X % off as well as the targeted PTOP3/5/10 codes which I only just found.

Usually they have a code ready to go before the old ones expire and in most cases have 2 5% codes running as well as some targeted ones.

Are they just on break or do you think the party is finally over?

I hate to admit it but for big purchases I always use the 5% if there is no 10% available and I need the item ASAP. I guess I have been spoilt.

Mods I understand this may fit elsewhere but it’s more of a 5% everyday code rather than “when is the next big eBay sale” kind of post.

I also totally get that it’s been like only 2 days and I’m probably jumping the gun but it does seem odd to me.

    In keeping with eBay's playbook, new discount codes will be released the day after I splurge on a big ticket item.

          Weird, in another 5% off post you were saying 5% is better than nothing, now you’re mocking it like it is nothing.

          5% off $599 USD would be closer to $42 Aus.

              @team teri: My bad, he probably mixed up the $ and % sign. I read as he was saying he wants $5 off.

                Wish I had made up my mind in time for the 15off second item code that expired just recently.

                But no, not buying at full price, not even with discounted gift cards…

    I'm guessing they have cottoned on to the fact that everyone has bought a stack of 5% and 10% off ebay gift cards and are waiting for people to spend them before giving more site wide discounts to avoid the stacking of discounts. Also i think the entire retail sector sort of takes a deep breath after new years day, with the madness of christmas lead up and boxing day sales. Give it a few days im sure there'll be something :P
