Waiting for a sub $80 (delivered) deal on the the RavPower RP-PB058

  • It's enough to fully charge 6 ~ 7 phones, wow!

Beware of the potential for issues at the airport as the capacity is right on (or above?) the 100Wh limit that requires airline approval. Of course only a consideration if you want to take it onto flights.

I did read the specification, seems this one is 99.X Wh

Assuming the nominal voltage is 3.7V, it falls below 100Wh (which is the maximum Wh for carry-on baggage).

      To calculate Wh:

      (mah)/1000 x (V) = (Wh)

      (26800mah)/1000 x (3.7V) = 99.16Wh.

      • That's the point - we have to assume that the nominal voltage is 3.7V. While this is one of the most common, a lithium battery (again an assumption) can have a nominal voltage from 3.2V to 4.2V, depending on the chemistry used. Unfortunately the product description isn't clear here. That's why I said "potential" and included a ? in my comment - I couldn't be sure.

Hopefully there is a clearer specification on the product itself or the potential for trouble at customs may be greater.

        • Agreed, I couldn't find the exact nominal voltage on Amazon, the official RavPower Website or the manual.

          • @RichardL: This is almost like saying the price is $100 but won't say in what currency. :-)

BTW, just for reference, the xiaomi power banks, which are quite popular on ozb, are rated at 3.85V.
