  • Reviews from previous deal weren't exactly glowing

I've got baby puke and cat vomit stains of various colours and crustiness; once I get this machine and test it out myself, I'll report back whether them spots will be glowing or not lol

I bought one and sold it after treating two area rugs. It's ok for tiny spots but a serious headache for anything bigger. This is a great tool if you need to clean tiny spots frequently (such as in cars or pet stains). It's rubbish for anything more than a few cm as it works more off elbow grease to rub the stain than the machine's power. This would be excellent if it had a rotating power brush, but it's just a $5 hard brush that you need to work into the cleaning formula and suck up with the vacuum wand. Very compact all in one, but just be aware of the limitations.

    • Good to know. I needed something small to clean the car seats amongst other things so here's hoping

  • Use better products than Bissell stuff and you'll get decent results…they are a small machine, afterall, they are called the "SpotClean"

    • You could use for the whole carpet might take a while tho

  • Can you buy 1000 points for $10

  • The older model is at $147 again. Even better if you snapped up Domayne gift cards via AMEX Statement Credits, which works out to be $117.60 (20% off).

Can anybody comment on the difference between the two and if it's worth the extra dollars? The older model appears to be quite popular based on an older post.

Also, cheaper via Harvey Norman if you have Domayne gift cards. Works out to be $156 (from $195).

    • Professional version seems to have extra attachments and comes with small bottles of their cleaning fluids

    • That's the model I would go with. You could purchase the extra attachments that come in the Pro kit and still come out on top.

  • A robotic version of this would work wonders in my house even if it was huge I wonder why nobody has made one yet.

I have one of these (not from this deal). Have cleaned up a few messes with it, spilt cans of soft drink, dog piss, cat puke, miscellaneous marks on stairs.

Its better than blotting with paper towel, but its no where near as good as one of the upright machines (for example one you hire from bunnings/supermarket or https://www.godfreys.com.au/wertheim-extractor-carpet-shampo…) it just doesn't have the suction. You can block the inlet on one of the tools with your finger and its feeble.

Cleaning takes (profanity) ages, i think the spilt soft drink on carpet was the hardest and took longest (multiple goes over a couple of hours) - it just didnt suck out all the 'sticky' residue which was evident after it'd dry out a bit and took MANY repeats of spraying the solution and sucking it back out.

This is not a spray solution, rub it in a bit, then suck it straight out - its MANY MANY MANY repeats of that process, its tedious and uncomfortable.

Unless your carpets are pristine, the 'spot cleaning' nature of this (ie cleans a small area) means, in my case, i had sections of very clean carpet against not so clean carpet - there are spots of clean that do stand out - particularly on stairs. I have wool carpet and rubbing the stain (to get the (profanity) out) also means the carpet tends to go a bit frizzy.

The hose on it is pretty short, so you need the machine close to where you're cleaning. I haven't used in the car, but expect it to not reach from the floor-pan to all of a seat, for example.

The wide and narrow 'tools' are pretty gimmicky, they do three things, spray the solution in a flat horizontal spray pattern, theres some bristles that you use to manually scrub the carpet with, and a slot on the end for vacuuming / sucking the solution/stain out. The smaller tool is better as the suction is restricted to a smaller area which makes it a bit stronger. The stain trapper does what it says, mostly. Its like a regular tool with a reservoir in it, so instead of the 'stain' eg piss and solution getting sucked back into the tank on the motor section, it mostly gets stored in a small tank/reservoir on the tool itself. There is some fly-by, so its not 100% effective, but it keeps most of that nasty shit out of the tank.

The included bottles of solution with the 'professional' package are small, i think i used all of the general solution, plus some of the oxy-action to get a spilt soft drink can (not a full can) out the carpet (maybe 4 tanks worth of water/solution). The solutions seem good enough, animal piss one works good - no nasty smell, the general one needed the oxy-action added to get anywhere.

I've also had good results using just preen vanish oxy-action and blotting with paper towl, in the past. But havent tried any DIY solutions (they will likely foam too much) with this machine.

Oh heat wise, it does heat the water up eventually, so you need to start with hot water out the tap when filling the reservoir, from what i can see, its just the heat
from the motor that heats the water nothing fancy, certainly not 'heat wave II technology" or whatever shit they call it.

So, unless you have a particular need for a small machine, dont get it. If you think this'll be your 'uber cleans' machine for high yield investment business, dont do it. If you think this is quiet, its not.

I bought mine with the intention of tackling my stairs, but in reality, it'll take so (profanity) long to do, i havent been bothered. It HAS been useful for spot cleaning piss/puke/spilt drinks on carpet in rooms however one of the bigger machines would have done the same job, a lot quicker and probably better.

    Useful for: stairs, chairs/couches, car

Stain size: smaller the better eg 50c piece size. CD size or bigger takes (profanity) ages. Whole room, hallway, whole rug - you're dreaming (mostly because it'll take so (profanity) long, you'll have fallen asleep doing it - if it wernt for it being so noisy that is). Mind you, its a tiny bit quieter than an upright machine, i suspect because of its feeble motor, but its still as loud as an inexpensive vacuum cleaner.

    Worth it? - maybe.

    • Thanks for the great feedback.

  • The "Professional" version also has double to warranty (2 years instead of 1 year).
