Thanks OzBargain! I Love My Wireless Gaming Mouse (Logitech G304)

Just wanted to say this mouse is awesome! I jumped on the G304 deal back in November but only got around to unboxing the mouse on the last day of 2018. Moving from my trusty M525 the quality difference is night and day. Just some deets about me. Not a serious gamer, except for the occasional console sports game. I'm using this mouse for general internet browsing and modeling (the unsexy kind…financial and economic).

(1) I find the mouse really comfortable to use. I don't have huge hands, and I alternate between a claw and palm grip. The design feels so smooth. If Logitech were ever to choose someone to advertise this mouse, dead or alive, it'd be Mr Barry White. ;)

(2) The G304 is the first mouse I've used that has virtually NO RESISTANCE. The G304 glides so effortlessly over my dining-styled mat which produces a lot of friction.

(3) Oh, and its super responsive! Really impressed, especially since its a wireless mouse. Now this point might be made irrelevant as I've only recent discovered using Windows precision drivers can significantly improve the responsiveness of any decently designed mouse.

(4) Finally, its so appealing with its simple design. A few of my PC gaming friends have expensive looking RGB mice that are huge and have what seems like 10-15 buttons. Look personally I love assigning Excel macros to shortcuts but its too in your face.

Anyone else own this product want to share their experiences? Would also love to hear your experiences with other great wireless mouse products! :)

I use an Apple mouse. It point where I want it to go and clicks when I want it to click.

Not worth it at all. It puts form before functionality.

      • Understatement of the century. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they genuinely prefer the apple mouse over any decent mouse of equivalent value.

I have the Logitech G603 Gaming mouse.

    What I love about it:
    - Great size. The previous mouse I used was too small and upgrading to this one was a the best decision. Very comfortable to use as well
    - Battery life. I haven't replaced the batteries since I bought it (late August) and use it everyday.
    - Bluetooth and Wireless support. Sometimes I use my raspberry pi and pc at the same time and its convenient to just swap between them with a push of a button
    - Price. It was $81 but I got a $50 eBay voucher from selling items to get it down to $31 (+ CashBack). I think its still worth it if I had paid $81.
    - Adjustable sensitivity Love this feature. Great for gaming.

I also agree that too many buttons is annoying and the G603 is perfect in having only two additional buttons on the side.

Was a little disappointed that it didn't have RGB lights (I thought it did when I bought it) but now I don't care, it saves battery and you're not supposed to look at the mouse (or keyboard) when using the computer anyway.

While there was no listed bargain for this mouse, I saw ozbargainers recommending it, so Thank you ozbargain!

    • Great choice! The G603 was on my shortlist in December. Wouldn't know what to do with two mice around! (I forgot about my G304 purchase)

I'd imagine you did research before the purchase. Other than the Ozbargain recommendations, what else made you veer towards the G603 over other wireless Logitech options?

I think the two features that sold me were the long battery life and bluetooth support. My laptop has three usb ports, i wanted to keep them clear as wireless headset already takes one spot and sometimes I charge my phone at my pc. It wouldn't be too often that I would need to use all three but it was definitely a feature that I would utilize and had noticed that the other logitechs did not support for whatever reason.
Either than that I researched and found it a solid performance mouse.

        • Three good reasons, especially in regards to performance. Seems like the general consensus is the G603 is a better gaming mouse. Once you go wireless, its hard to go back.

@Julius: I actually prefer the previous version G602 to the G603.The G603 feels too plasticky for my liking. The G602 has a rubberized coating which feels more comfortable.

I bought the g304 and a g603 from the deals. Love both of them but I prefer the g603 size over the smaller g304. Using the g304, noticed more hand fatigued compared with the g603 for long gaming sessions. I do miss having the infinite scroll feature from a mx master 2 and mx anywhere 2 though

    • Not a gamer but the G603 appears to have a huge following. Agreed on the Master series. Tried my colleague's for a day and although its great for browsing/reading, it feels so bulky.

  • The sensor claims 400 inches per second. I think you should test it.

    • To test my near frictionless claim? Others can. I want to remain in my walled off paradise and free from buyer remorse.

  • Tip to make it lighter is to buy Energizer AAA Ultimate Lithium battery and get use some tin foil so it will fit, this will bring the weight down to about 82 grams.

    • I heard about this mod! Can you really tell the difference through a blind test?

Besides, I have a bunch of unused AA eneloops in my drawer. First time in awhile I get to use an AA. :)

I came from a 82g G102 which is the wired version of the G304.
so i could definitely tell the weight was more.
        Eneloop AA weighs - 27g
        Eneloop AAA weighs - 12g
energizer Lithium AAA weighs - 7g
Those numbers are from my scales i have here and my own eneloops.

        • Looks like you've persuaded me. The adaptors are pretty cheap on eBay so I'll go there.

Should have purchased AAA eneloops from the start. I have never used my AAs

@Julius: I did order the adapters (mine never got delivered) apparently the adapters are 3-4g while tinfoil isn't even 1g and you most likely have some in your kitchen now lol.

This is my G304 with tinfoil.

            • @Axelstrife: Wow, that's smart! Yes, will definitely try now.

            • @Axelstrife: Wow, I can feel the weight difference. Didn't have tin foil around so used aluminium foil.

  • Oh! Worth mentioning that I bought and forgot completely about this mouse. Nearly made the mistake of buying another one this summer.

    I miss my G9x

Glad to hear you like your new mouse!

I personally use the Logitech M590 because it is silent, smooth, and wireless! Perfect for night time so no one gets annoyed due to the clicking noises.

    • Just from all these positive responses for Logitech, I just feel they really are the best mouse makers.
