I generally dislike "arbitrage" drop shippers because of dishonest claims about where items are located. Too many times I've purchased items on eBay where the location clearly says within Australia, with logos of Australia Post on the pictures and with notes about shipping from an Australian warehouse in the description. Often ends up being dropshipped from China. This means long shipping times (which was the point of me going with an Australian warehouse in the first place). If I knew that was the case, I would have just bought it on AliExpress or a Chinese listing on eBay directly.

In any case, to answer your question, you need to be able to find where you can add value for the customer. Let's assume that you intend to be honest and upfront about dropshipping (rather than claiming that your products are in an Australian warehouse when they aren't). Then you have to be able to justify why people should buy from you rather than on AliExpress directly.

    • Complain to eBay about the seller, they seem to have taken it seriously for me recently. Particularly if you mention that buying from amazing prime means you know it will be shipped from Australia.

  • I doubt too many successful ones are going to help a future competitor out but I reckon you'll find plenty of sharks willing to sell you special lists of products and contacts.
