Bose Soundlink Mini II Carbon $149 @ Myer QLD (in Store Only)

580

Hi, guys.

Myer has this speaker for clearance @ $149. Lower prices are available if combining with cashrewards or egift card. As I can see, only Indooroopilly, Mt Gravatt, North Lakes are in stock. I bought this for the same price @ Bose store in 2017. Still really good though.

    • Why is it garbage???

    • I would say this speaker did not worth for its RRP. But at $149, it is not a bad deal. Just give me some examples about the better speakers you suggest.

I also find your comment strange. I don't own a Bose but have compared it with the UE Boom 2 which I've owned for several years (and which is frequently cited as one of the best inexpensive & portable Bluetooth speakers).

I thought they were pretty similar and the Bose, despite being smaller, seemed to have crisper and deeper bass. I would have bought one for its portability, but for the fact it was much more expensive. At this price it seems reasonable.

Utter bollocks. The Soundlink Mini range has fantastic punch for its size and shits all over the same generation UE Boom or JBL.

      audiophile much

You probably don't even own one lol….. This is a decent speaker..

      Still waiting for those suggestions…

a lot of owners and reviews disagree with you. I personally have this and love it, this is not an audiophile device and you won't expect at this price range. negged

    • Says the person who has never seen/heard the product.

    • Not garbage at all. I was fortunate to be gifted one and is my favourite portable speaker. Always raises eyebrows with others to how good to the sound quality is for such a small speaker.

Very dated! may be great when it released, but read the later reviews to see & hear for yourself
QC35 is great, doesn't mean any other BOSE is, sigh…

    • +1

Meh, it had a firmware issue for early versions a few years back that could cause it to brick itself under the right circumstances.

Everything on the shelves should have the latest version already, otherwise just plug it into a PC and upgrade.

It's a solid bluetooth speaker. Really nice build quality and very compact for the sound it can put out.

This has the best bass I've heard for a speaker of it's size.

Sony XB30/XB31 is a bit bigger but produces way deeper bass, is way louder and sounds better (with some tuning via app), battery lasts longer, it has a usb port to charge your phone, is water resistant, and cost around $100 when on special. In other words, it craps all over the Bose and is $50 cheaper.

      • Sony XB30/XB31

Don't think I've heard it. Thanks I will check it out.

        • +2

XB30 is the old model which would be hard to find now, but actually sounds better than the newer XB31. However the new model has the fabric finish like the JBL's and UE speakers, and looks a bit nicer. I actually got a UE Megaboom 3 (from the Heineken promotion) but sold it as the Sony sounds better to me.

        • FYI they were $138 recently, so don’t pay more than that for the X31s.

          • +1

@cnut: bought the XB31 last month as a gift using ow price beat….they were on sale in Amazon for $109 and ow price beat it by 5%….have been using XB30 for more than a year….amazing punch for the size of the speaker and has survived 2 drops into the pool!

      • Would you provide your tuning settings please

        • +1

It really depends on the situation. For indoors I leave Extra Bass off as it can get too boomy, and with the equaliser I put bass and treble to full and the mids I leave standard.
For outdoors, I put the Extra Bass on as it fills out the sound better. I again put Bass and treble to max, and I put the mids on +3. The good thing is having the ability to tinker with the sound, as everyone has different preferences.

    • This 👍

May be dated although still one of the best for the size and sound.

    • I agree! I have one of these and love it. And I bought it via an OzBargain special :-)

  • Thanks op, this will make a great compact speaker for my black Mac mini

Need to call the store to confirm. I clicked 'Find store' and saw there are three stores in QLD are in stock.

      • Yeah tried that but when I click on Find Store and then try to type something in the postcodes box, I can't. It is impossible to get the cursor in the box. Nothing happens. Tried with other items on the site and then I can type something. No idea what's going on there.

  • No stock at north lakes

  • This is better than the newer models.

    • What’s the newer model?

      • -1

        The coke can ones.

Soundlink Mini II is a fantastic speaker. This is a great price.

  • I have this. Tiny but packs a punch! The base it produces is the best for its size. The solid aluminium body makes it feel a bit heavy is the only down side.

  • This or JBL flip ?

    • Flip is below $100 when on sale. I personally prefer the Bose one.

  • +3

Absolutely awesome speaker - I use it as a soundbar for my television lol.

  • Only major downside I've experienced is there is no way to remotely change the volume. If you use this as a tv speaker, you'll have to get up whenever you wish to change the volume.

    • +1

If your TV has a variable output setting, you'll be able to use your tv remote to adjust the volume.

  • Thanks OP, got 2 today, $126.65 each. Myer is currently running a %15 off Bose!

    • Great! Which store did you get it from?

      • Indooroopilly

  • If you're near Ballarat, Myer there still got these in stock. Best to call first, 15% off Bose ends today.
