Just found out the iPod Speaker Dock is worth 69 bucks at JB HIFI (http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/ipod-mp3-portables/accessorie…) but I'm assuming the actual cost would be around 30-40.

WOO HOO - these Staples deals are like the new DellSwarm!

That TDK iCubic will work OK with an iPhone 3GS (I have both) but it chucks a "device not designed for iPhone" message on the phone when you dock it. Sound is only mono - it's just a big clock radio really.

    • I just got one and it works with my iphone4 too, sound is pretty good I reckon.

  • woot great deal AGAIN!

Was looking to buy a new alarm/dock as well :P

    spent $75

    hdd+paper+office supplies+ MILO lol!

  • would be nice if they shipped outside NSW.
Surely its just a different address and a different shipping charge ?

  • Glad they don't deliver to Melbourne! Would have made another impulse buy when i probably don't need another external hdd!

  • +1

Good deal. I've bought so many cheap HDDs and Reflex lately, when will this stop!

    • +1

I've been downloading like a demon so I can fill them all ROFL :-D

In the last 2 weeks I've already taken a TB of games off my NAS (which was full).

But why did I need a 2.5" drive? (somebody remind me LOL)

      • But why did I need a 2.5" drive? (somebody remind me LOL)

Cuz you're adopted..not a laughing matter now is it?

        LOL I kid.no offense :p

      • no you dont. the point of downloading game is to play them, not just save them on your hd, and delete them after a while.

        • LOL - but I haven't even installed them all yet, let alone played them.

Bloody cable internet introduces a significant problem to modern families… I can download faster than I can play.

So I need hard drives! More and MORE and MORE and M.O.R.E.

        • +1

          MOAR Hard drives?

          32TB Array

  • Damn, it looks like they're out

  • +1

Arrived today - and since I ordered after close of business on Monday I got a free packet of Monte Carlo bickies - Bargain!! But dock is ipod only, doesnt work with iphone4

    • I got the biscuits too, but only the biscuits, no hard disk…

    • Did anyone else get the hard drive and the biscuits in LARGE seperate boxes? I mean large (bigger than a shoe box) containing a small pack of biscuits, and another large box containing the hard drive.

They could have fit both items into ONE box half the size!

Tested write speeds and am getting 40 MB/s on a large file, and 20 MB/s on a bunch of picures. Nice!

      • Both times I've ordered on a Tuesday the biscuits have come in a separate box. I assume they have them pre-boxed and just add a shipping label to the boxes when the orders come in…

Still doesn't explain why they couldn't find a smaller box, though.

    • f$rkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

someone said it works with 3gs??? The iphone 4 has the same connector right???

      • someone said it works with 3gs??? The iphone 4 has the same connector right???

I thought all apple products had the same dock connector?

It it does not fir it could be that the iphone 4 is the wrong size to fit in the hole

    • ozpete you are wrong and I am glad you are lol!

I got mine today and it works with the iphone 4 no problem :P

It says it's not compatible but everything works, just switch to ipod mode and i can play music from my phone and charge it at the same time :D

wooooot! exactly what i needed :P

  • ordered 2 but got an email saying its one per customer and charged me for one.. still happy with it though!

  • OP here, I never got ANY mail or phone call. They altered my order by telling me today that they've charged my credit card an X amount (so no, I never got the revised list of what they charged me for). On top of that, I never received my items today despite being one of the first people in on the deal.

I'm assuming that by removing such items (one again, without my permission), I'm now ineligible for the bonus iCubic Speaker System. Now that really pisses me off as it doesn't even give me a chance to alter my order.

What they did was a betrayal of consumer confidence (you can't just alter someone's order and charge them for whatever you want), and borderlines fraud. Sent them an e-mail just then… they better damn well explain their actions.

    • -2

You did the wrong thing (ordered two when they said one per customer) and now you're chucking a wobbly because they caught you?

      • +1

The point here is that the customer should be given the opportunity to amend the order like others in the threads above……

      • Nice of you to drop by and criticise, ibft. I'll explain my actions then; being OP, I quickly got posted it up on OzBargain before I even ordered (I later ordered a few minutes later), and it was only when Sparky13 said it was '1 per deal' that I saw it (before amending my original post). I later joked it as

I bought 2 lol. Hoping they just go 'ah whatever, it's ozbargain' and let it go.

Now the question that looms here is that do you think it's appropriate that a company uses your credit card and charge you for whatever they want? No, I don't think so either, as it borderlines fraud (unfortunately they just fall short here, as the credit card details was passed onto them voluntarily for that phantom purchase). And it damn well doesn't help when they don't allow me to amend my order (I bought 5 realms of stupid only to make up the 69 dollars, and now I'm assuming it's in my revised order) and being late for delivery that should of come YESTERDAY doesn't help my mood either.

Update 12.30 PM, just got my order. No biscuits either. Now it's just personal. :(

    • +1

I haven't received my hdds and paper yet either. No emails, no calls and the website won't show orders placed. I purchased hdds early too when no limits were set. If they alter my order or other similar shenanigans, they can expect some s55 Trade Practices Act 1974 action coming their way.

  • Thx for the bikkies…the boxes are too big for small contents

  • TO everyone that got part shipped items CALL THEM!

They had an error with the system and you need to call them to fix it!

  • sigh You can add me to the list of people who received only biscuits (in a deceptively large box) and no hard drive. Very annoying that I won't be able to sort this out until next Wed at the earliest…

    RAGE

    • at least you got the bikkies unlike some……. :)

    • Very annoying that I won't be able to sort this out until next Wed at the earliest…

Nothing to sort out, the biscuits box arrived before the box with the HDD in it. The HDD will probably come after the holiday break

  • Appears to be back in stock.

  • Thankfully with a little bit more prominent " limit one per customer " on it now too..

    • Did you get another one successfully processed?

  • Now shipping to VIC it says, my order went through with free shipping maybe?

    • free shipping! got a BIG box today with a small hdd box inside, no wrapping just lose in the box, but free shipping!

  • I know this Verbatim deal has been mentioned a few times already. Can't remember which one I read first, so thanks for the tip to all of the posters.

I didn't really read the details and I went ahead and ordered pretty much the HDD, paper deal, free shipping with the free iPod clock.

Hopefully everything works out - there's free biscuits?? - and the OP's order gets sorted out too.

  • Not really, they posted the HDD and the paper to my place and gave me free delivery (so 29 + 10 bucks worth of paper). After calling them, they finally agreed to let me make another order for around 30 dollars or so, and get the free ipod speaker.

No apology or an admission of a mistake on their end (despite me apologising many times for my original oversight), but at least the staff member (paul) was a good bloke, and I didn't want to press him and be a prick :(

  • anyone wanting to get this deal in other states, I am willing to ship to you guys for no profit at all. But given it is only one person per HDD, just one person will get it. This means cost of (items + delivery) + delivery to your place via your chosen courier service. Still will be cheaper than staticice :)

    • Staples now delivers to other states, this was recently updated by Staples, however, WA and QLD are the two states excluded.

  • Has anyone had a problem with their hard drive showing "USB device not regonised" in Windows? A friend of mine keeps getting this error (we tried a couple of PC's). My hard drive has no problem in either PC.

His hard drive borked it after only 2 weeks…time to get a refund from Staples. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

    • Got same problem.

Used the hard drive to transfer 40gb, Next day turned on PC, and windows wouldn't recognize it. Same error on 3 different PC's with different USB cables.
