AUSSIE

Saw this on FB:

Get a $2 Big Mac® on the Uber Eats app from 14 January 2019, until the last Australian tennis player gets knocked out of the Australian Open 2019. Delivery fees apply. Limited to one per order.

What you need to do to get involved:

Enter the promo code ‘AUSSIE’ in the Uber Eats app
Order a Big Mac® from McDonalds
Then just sit back, relax and enjoy the tennis - while your burger comes to you.

Mod: Title updated. Whilst the promo is advertised as 'Big Mac for $2', the Coupon code appears to take $5.50 off your McDonald's order (excluding the delivery fee), regardless of what you order.

    But… But why?

  • +2

Still bummed they won't deliver Dinner Boxes

    • why not?

      • +1

No idea… they aren’t on the menu

        • They don't even do them on the Macca's app anymore

    • If you were in Brisbane I'd make a special delivery just for you

  • +9

    How much is delivery?

    • 5$

  • +11

It's not quite a free krusty burger but it's a start

Woman: This just came over the wires, Big K.
Krusty: [reads] Uh-huh. Soviet boycott. U.S. unopposed in most events. How does this affect our giveaway?
Accountant: Let's see.[calculates] You personally stand to lose $44 million.

  • Thanks OP, just got $5.50 off my Macca's

  • How many can you order at once?

    • Just checked, only works on 1 burger or $5.50 total.

  • +4

Oh wow an Uber Eats discount that finally works for existing customers :O

  • +2

last time i ordered on ubereats from maccas, it got cancelled after 30 mins and it left me hungry and angry.

i've decided next time i won't be lazy to go out and buy my own food.

    • +1

Thats because the driver ate your burger

  • +5

If you like Indomie Mi Goreng, you'll like these. They really nailed the flavour!

    • +6

Damn that’s cool, they must have reworked the Big Mac sauce!

  • +4

    Isn't delivery $5 anyway?

    • +8

Exactly my thoughts. I don't understand why this deal is so good, it is still $7 for a big Mac after paying delivery .

      • -1

What a rort. Pay an extra few dollars and get a kebab.

Delivery is $5.95 in my area

      • +4

        The lazy tax

      • cashrewards gives $3 cashback for ubereats if I'm not mistaken

  • Damn! Shame that I'm 200m outside the 2km range

  • +3

Don't like Uber eats because the prices of items are higher. Than gotta pay $5.50 extra for delivery. Big Mac by itself is $6.30 in my area but on the maccas app it's $5.95.
Understand people paying for convenience though.

    • +1

You can thank the 30% cut that uber takes on every order for the higher prices.

  • Wasn't it 5.80 last time now 5.50, sounding like ebay promos

  • +1

So I just ordered and it seems the coupon is reusable, I didn't even have to retype it in, it just came up as added to the order. (Note: I didn't continue with the second order, perhaps it could come up with a error upon payment)

    • +1

They wrote in the FAQ that you can use it once per order, for as many orders as you like:

How many $2 Big Mac burgers can I order? The order is limited to 1 per order but you can make as many individual orders as you like. You can also order other items but they won’t be discounted. Delivery fee applies.

  • Ace! It works! Thanks OP!

  • -2

Ubereats doesn't show McDonald's on my app even though I have about three stores within a 5 minute drive.

  • +6

    So Delivery - $5.95
    Discount - $5.50

    Hmm

  • Comes down to $8.35 for me.

    Big Mac $6.90
    Delivery $6.95
    Promotion -$5.50

    total $8.35

    • +1

So $8.35 for a big mac that's been sitting in the back of some grubby unhygenic hot box for fifteen minutes? Hahahah no deal.

      • +4

You don't need to pick up your filthy bum off the couch though.

  • +3

    Inflated prices negate this

  • Literally just ordered a big mac via uber eats 5 minutes ago :(

  • I just tried using this deal with no success. I know that my most local McDonalds does do Uber Eats delivery because when I go there, I see their messengers come in and collect the Uber paper bags. However, when I tried making an order this afternoon, Uber Eats did not show McDonalds as one of the food sources in my suburb! WHY? and… why is there nobody/no method by which I can contact Uber Eats to request this be fixed or to seek an explanation?

I am guessing that while I am quite close (maybe 1.5 kms) to one McDonalds that does do Uber, that my entire suburb may have been "allocated" as belonging to a different McDonalds, that does not do Uber, and which is 3.5 kms away from my house?

    • +1

I once emailed a nearby restaurant (not McDonald’s) to see why they don’t appear on my Uber eats and their reply was that Uber decides the algorithm and they change it all the time. The restaurant has no control about who they deliver to.

  • +3

Nothing special about this deal, $7.20 for a big mac delivered.. no thanks!! When did delivery charge go up to $5.95 anyway. Wouldn't touch uber eats unless there's a minimum $10 promo code.

  • Shopback gives existing customers a $2 cashback so it works out to be cheaper than standard pricing, not too bad.

    • Shopback doesn't work with most coupon offers, including this one I believe.

  • -1

    Cheaper to go there yourself.
Front page full of non-bargains with lots of pos votes.

    • +1

i mis-read that as pieceofshit votes. took me a bit to realise it was short for positive

    • Yes but that wouldn't exactly be Uber Eats would it….

    • The time it takes to go there probably not worth it after seeing this deal..

  • $5.50 off? that's pretty much free delivery
