These are NOT MFI certified . How could they be when Apple charges us$4 each?

    From Aerocool:

“Made for iPod,” “Made for iPhone,” and “Made for iPad” mean that an electronic accessory has been designed to connect specifically to iPod, iPhone, or iPad, respectively, and has been certified by the developer to meet Apple performance standards. Apple is not responsible for the operation of this device

So, total trademark violation. But are tthey better than random eBay cables claiming MFI standards?

What about this guy? Is 3 for $4 - too cheap to be functional?

Local, "MFI cert" (haha), 1m white cable.

    • Agree. Need to validate if this is truly MFI.
If not mfi, then no deal

Belkin has the exact same paragraph in the info sections of their lightning cables too: https://www.belkin.com/au/p/P-F8J144/

And if you search for the Aerocool brand in Apple's MFi database (https://mfi.apple.com/MFiWeb/getAPS), this model shows up.

Seems fine to me, bought one.

      • Interesting, thanks. So "self certification" is accepted now?

Does Apple still charge us$4 per connector?

Don't forget Apple will be killing off the lightning connector this year, in favour of USB-C at last.

        • Please give source for Apple charging US$4 per connector. To be listed on MFI website you have to buy the chip from one of Apple authorized providers. It's not "self certification".

They're probably selling at a loss. It's MFI, check for Aerocool here:

      • very cool, did not know apple had an mfi database, thanks.

  • Its showing as $12.

Op states while stocks last, and the listings shows its in stock. So why the price increase?

  • Hi Prince, there was a limited amount of stock released for this special. They are now sold out. We still have some stock available, but no longer on special.

  • Talk about Clickbait and a total waste of time!
Couldn't get the free postage and $5 price. As they say, if it's too good to be true…….
and now they have my name address, email and phone number

Hi Rabiez, the offer expired about an hour and a half ago and is no longer available. If you would like us to remove your details from our system please email [email protected] and we will delete it for you.

      • Thanks Store Rep. I do all my computer parts shopping personally, down the road at CPL Geelong Rd Brooklyn, but was feeling lazy today

        • Hi Rabiez. Think that may be a different company mate :) We're not in Brooklyn… Just West Melbourne, Preston and Notting Hill
