Can you please submit your calculation to see if we can get profit by selling your 25 kg ice?
          Electricity cost ——
          Water cost ——-
          Delivery cost ——
          Marketing/telephone cost

vs Ice cost ———— 4/5 dollar

          • @HolyCr4p: that was an estimated generation of ICE cubes in 24 hours.
basically, you can make quick ice cube in just a couple of minutes.
I hope you don't make ice for whole 24 hours.

but with the 4/5 dollars, you can't quickly make the ice in 9 minutes.

            • @Big Aussie Deals: you mention this can be used for parties, cafes, the office… so if you want to sell it or use it for cafe, parties, office how much profit or money can be saved compared to buy 4-5 dollar ice ?

      • +1

if the Kogan one is 20% faster…how come the rep is quoting that theirs can make 25kg in 24 hrs, yet Kogan 12kg. Someone's maths is not quite adding up. Anyway, if a 5kg bag is $5, it would take 38 bags of ice to get to the same cost of the machine.

        • +2

Different sizes of the ice cube could be the reason.

        • +1

RockyRaccoon is right; Capacity does make a difference.
More capacity could lead to more power required to make the ice.

          • @adamchan: Instead less capacity would let you fill the tank twice as of more tank capacity would be more convenient.

  • So you need to plug AC to work? How's it really portable?

    • Yes you need to plug into AC.
it is portable to lift and carry different zones wherever you have AC power point.
you can call it is handy product.

      • Thanks for the reply rep.

Hi, curious about how you use it. If you turn it on and leave it, do you come back to 9 pieces, or does it keep making them until the bucket is full? Is the bucket kept cold too? How big is the bucket?

    • Yes,
      1. fill it up for 3.2 Liters of water in the bucket.
      2. it automatically comes up and with 9 pieces and stores in the cube tray above the water tank.
      3. The ice maker keeps making the ice cubes until the ice tray is filled or the water level of 3.2 Liter completely runs out of water
      4. The bucket will stay cool as the cooling fins are active during it's function, it will also depends on the room temperature.

      • Seems like a rebrand of this, very mixed reviews:

        https://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Counter-44-55lbs-Portable-E…

        Re your number 3:
"It is kind of a pain since it will stop producing ice because the lip of the ice bin doesnt shift downward to let the ice drop into the bin very well."

Re your number 4, from amazon:
        Q: Is there a built-in freezer?
A: no there is not the ice just falls into the basket and you need to keep empting it as the ice is made.

and from the reviews "Also the interior part of the unit isn't very well insulated so the ice melts really quickly once it's made. It is okay. I just expected more considering its twice as expensive as the other countertop units that are comparable."

        • Hello,
          i think you have mistaken.

please check the below link to view photos, i just made couple of ice cubes besides me in the same ice maker.
          https://bit.ly/2RPXgYW

They don't melt and also they do come into the cube tray automatically.
if you really needs to see the video, i can make one for you and share the link.

and from the above reviews, none of the products has 3.2 Liters of tank capacity.
none of the products are giving 12 months warranty.

        • +1

For melting ice bit it's simply drip back into the water tank… Ice again in 10 minutes ~~ now it's just recycled water…

    • click the link to see the photos of ice cubes made by this product in couple of minutes
      https://bit.ly/2RPXgYW

  • These are all units to make a bulk quantity of ice.

Would like to find one where you press a button and out pops say 3 ice-cubes into your glass. Then it switches off until next time.

You get this in some fridges. I would like a standalone unit.

    • This product has a feature, you can turn off in case you want only 9 cubes. that would hardly take you 7-9 minutes to generate them.

I'm an eskimo, can you sell one to me?

  • If you booked a powered site for camping, can you use the ice maker plus esky instead of camping refregirator? I mean you could top up ice cubes to your esky to maintain the cool and drain out the melting the ice(water) from esky? Anybody have tried this way before? Thanks
