  • Are you kidding me, I just got the Mi 8 for $660 yesterday. :\
Is gearbest a trusted seller for phones?

    • +2

well i never spend over $300 with them for one item but i buy a lot. all good. i trust them fully.

    • Pay through paypal for the protection, but apart from a led light keychain thing i bought for 30cents which never came they've fulfilled all my orders in pretty good time

    Mi 8 Lite code GBMPLO9
This coupon has reached its maximum limit.

Also shipping to rural NSW is $54 US. No deal.

    "Xiaomi Mi Max 3 4GB RAM 64GB'
using it. a phone with the best battery ever.\

but i bought it cheaper than this price, almost a year ago? so should be cheaper i think.

    • +2

How much did you buy it then?

      • +1

came to around AUD 330 delivered, bought via ebay, august 2018 (not a year ago but 5 months)
ok sorry that price was after ebay discount code, and discounted vouchers.
and the ebay seller had their location to australia so i didnt pay gst (but actually the item came from china of course).

  • is mi9 due soon? is it worth going a mi8 or mi8 lite or waiting for the global redmi note 7 and 7 pro?

    • im deciding between the pocophone and mi 8 - decisions

      • I was struggling to decide over these 2 until I went through a lot of reviews and found that the Mi 8's camera is far better so I've gone with that. Otherwise if you're just after a better than average mid-range phone for a bit less then the Poco seems like the winner.

        • how much did you get it for?

          • @[Deactivated]: Well I just ordered the Mi 8 yesterday through Kogan (doh!) for $660.
If gearbest is a trusted seller then this is an amazing deal, as you can't get these phones in Aus retail stores.

            • +2

@Wonderstache: Hmm thats not bad, I really rate Kogans warranty process as I had an issue with my LG G4 when it bootlooped and it was an overall positive experience

        • poco's camera software is decent. it doesn't have OIS, though. also you can still install a google cam port on it. big battery and sd card slot, too

      • you won't regret buying either one. both are really nice

  • +3

If you're looking at a budget phone you should hold out to see how much their Redmi Note 7/7 Pro edition will cost, and you might as well see what their PocoF2 looks like if you don't need a mid-range phone right away

  • Any 128gb deals?

  • Wow, the Mi 8 doesnt have a SD Card slot…yet Mi 8 Lite does??

    • Nope… though you can get a 128gb version which is still plenty.

    • According to gearbest website description. Mi 8 lite does support up to 256gb while mi8 does not support. Interesting..

Xiaomi are all over the place.
        Eg.
Mi 8 doesn't have an IR blaster but the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE does.
Mi 8 doesn't have an expandable storeage but the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite does.

Doing my head in trying to find the best phone for me.
I think the Honor View 20 looks to be the goods, depending on price vs storage options.

        • You would think the most expensive "flagship" type phone, would have the bells and whistles and the lower end would miss out on some of them…
To be honest, not including expandable memory, is a big no no for me since the Samsung S6 - eventually you run out…and 64gb isnt that much either for the Mi 8 considering the price.

    Cheaper on AliExpress

  • Do you happen to have the discount code for 128gb version of the Pocophone F1? https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_009492488405.html?wi…

    • Not sure if there is a coupon for the 128GB at the moment, but I'm guessing there will be one soon. Check this link for coupons.

  • If the phone is 'international' version, is it limited compared to the Australian retail version? I noticed they don't come with Google stuff installed.
Is there a version of this ie an 'Australian' release that comes with android and all the google stuff installed?
    Thanks guys

    • which phone? for me, my mi max 3 is CHINA version (can you check from imei at xiaomi website).
but nothing different. of course i could install google stuff later on. its android phone…

      • hi, thanks for the reply, I mean what's the difference between the China and International versions?
like am I going to get some random adware installed or potentially have any annoying bugs or language issues?
I bought a Lenovo like this from gearbest and it was flooded with malware and adware and all sorts of shit.

And sorry, yes, I meant the MiMax.
And do you like the MiMax?

    • This is the Global version, product description states Google Play Store is pre-installed.

      Other Features
      Google Play Store: Yes
