      The SJ4000 4k claims to, but actually records at 3200*1800.

      Until I see the what the sensor this camera uses, then I'm skeptical that it can record real 4k either.

      I have a similar ~$50 action camera. The footage is acceptable at 1080 60fps. I used it every day as a helmet camera on my bike (basically a dash camera).

        They don't film real 4K. It's through a method called interpolation that usually films at a lower resolution like 2K and stretches to 4K during playback. A dead give away is when cameras claim to do 4K @ 15/22fps. Examples of chipsets that are interpolated would be the Novatek NTK96660 and Allwinner V3.

  they run very hot and the battery is only good for 30mins at 1080.

    Really? My cam, which looks to be pretty similar to this, gets ~90 minutes at 1080.

  Does anyone know if these work with the elgato cam link? thinking about using one as a facecam for twitch streams.

  It has a HDMI out but I dont know if its timed and clean?
