5-10% off with RED Membership @ RED by Dufry

20

While buying a bottle of water for $1.99 at the airport duty free shop. I noticed that the receipt has an advertisement for up to 10% off your next duty free purchase. This could be useful if you want to buy any alcohol or perfumes. You need to first join their free membership program.

Participating airports in Australia are:

  • Melbourne – Tullamarine Airport
  • Perth – Perth International Airport

but they have stores in many international airports.

See RED membership benefits for different levels.

The real bargain here is that the airport is selling water for $2 instead of $17

This has been there for a while, my friends always do this if they have to buy anything at the airport.

It is on and off though, sometime there is no 10%.

  • It says up to so it could be as little as 1%

  • TITLE: Upto 10% (5%) off duty free @ Melbourne Airport after $1.99 purchase (for joining Dufry RED Duty Free program)

This deal requires no purchase but to join a duty free program
The program applies @ Dufry duty free stores worldwide - not just @MEL.
Discount is usually 5% until you've spent lots to qualify for 10%.

Platinum member (after spend of au$1600 for 5000pts) receives 10% discount (in selected stores) - that's a lot more than $1.99 spend in title!

Different airports have different duty free operators, with different loyalty programs. Buying alcohol etc can be cheaper at some destinations than buying here duty free with discount!

(Discount has been built into high prices imo)

Entire Deal now rewritten by moocher👍

  • From my previous experience you don't need to join anything for a discount. Just give them the receipt and scan the code. Sure it's clearly a ploy to get you to buy something else. Maybe not a 10% discount but A discount is a discount if you are thirsty and want to buy a something from the airport duty free.
