Velodyne Impact IMP12BEMK2 12" Subwoofer $645 Delivered (RRP $919) @ VideoPro

120

Bough this recently, best price I could find for the MK2 version of Velodyne;s Impact series.

I can not find any reviews from the likes of What HiFi etc. but their Mark 1 series was well reviewed, so me figures surely their mK2 must be an improvement.

I can find same price for their MK1 model, however this is their newer slightly better looking, it's a sub after all. and has a better drive build with rubber surrounds instead of foam (I should post a pic. of a Jam sub which foam surrounds simply disintegrated…a after a couple of decades to be fair, it had been sitting unused for at least one decade though.

The Velodyne brand should indicate its a solid unit and thus far I am loving the nice punch in the bass delivery, do I like it more than the Klipsch? I think so.

  • I'm a big fan of Velodyne subwoofers. Have trusty CHT-10Q and love its warm punch. I have also Klipsh which sounds nice… but all my love is with Velodyne :)

    • How good is the material/exterior finish on Velodyne series?

      • IMO if you are familiar with the Klipsch, it's better than Kiipsch. As mentioned, before buying i could not find much in terms of actual reviews, this youtube clip at least goes over this particular model.

Me too. SVS and Velodyne are easily the pick of the bunch unless you find a very old M&K. My M&K v75 mkII is still going strong. Damn thing refuses to die and the minister of finance won't let me upgrade until it's dead and buried.

      • I recently brought an svs pb1000 and it's amazing vs an older Polk 12inch I had so I can confirm atleast that part.

        • Great choice. I have my eyes on the pb2000 and maybe the pb1000 in a dual sub config. I moved my theatre to a smaller room so my kids could have a bigger playroom. Need to do the math on whether two subs is going to be worth it.

        When there's a will there's a way. Wink.

        • Haha it’s still a great sub and it hasn’t missed a beat. For all the great service I’ve gotten from it, it wouldn’t be fair to unceremoniously dump it even if the replacement will be far superior.

Shame it wasn't part of the POOLTIME promo :(
