    • $89 postage
  • idk anything about air condition but what would i need to install it and cost to install it

    • It depends where you want to install it. Just call your local businesses and ask for quotes

  • issue is installation would cost more…

Expensive to run but at that price who cares for a guest bedroom if it’s used a small amount.

Otherwise wait until winter and get a deal on a better quality inverter system which does make a huge difference to power bills vs fixed speed systems

Also note some smaller installers won’t touch these systems due to the hassles they have to deal with for warranty and they have their own brand they should be pushing

Winter sales are well worth waiting for

How much does everyone pay for installation just curious…

    • +1

300-500 i think back to back single storey install

      • I am looking to buy a 3.3kw unit, not sure how much that's going to be..

    • just paid 500 for standard install of 3.9kw. If its over 4kw, might cost more as might have to be hooked up to a separate circuit. Also, @ 2.5 kw this will only cool down a very small area

Thanks man, you have a good point here, buying small doesn't necessarily meaning you will save power, in the long run, it might be 3.3kw which is prob better.

        • Yeah and its cheaper to buy this ,BUT it will run heaps hard to cool and use craploads more power to do it. Better to spend a little more on the unit , and pay less in running costs in the long run. Most installs are around 4-650ish max the bloke (aircon mechanic) told me. Only very complex ones are going to be more (rare)

Bunnings sells it for 420$ and i cant see any reviews on it. Just need clarification on fixed speed word…if anyone can explain. Thanks.

in my opinion if i need to spend over $500 to install an aircon, probably will choose a well known brand

    • This, for any split systems - any saving with a low quality unit will cost you more in the long run as its more likely to fail, and they generally are more inefficient.

    • I second this as an installer

3 star rating isn't great nor is fixed speed. Will cost you in the long run via higher energy Bills.
A name brand inverter split is a better investment.

As I outlined in my post guru

Fixed speed basically means it’s running at the same power demand 24x7 fixed input which is expensive when you run it 24 hours a day

For example I had a dual head Mitsubishi heavy industries invertor split in the lounge room and bedroom and our total monthly bill was $120 a month with it running 24x7

Now at my duplex they have in this rental mdv fixed speed units and the cost is extortion levels to run both the 6kw and 2.5kw bedroom unit ($300 a month if used heavily)

So I’d recommend an inverter system any day of the week, considering they use stepping wattage on motor control you’ll get better efficiency and cost per hour to run, only downside is inverter is more expensive to repair than fixed speed due to the compressor control circuitry etc but most installers offer 5-10 year warranty on their installations so a moot point really

      • Do you remember the model name of your Mitsubishi dual head?

Lps it was something like the SCM125ZM
It ran 2 units off the one outdoor unit
