Any mention of the Olympus TG-5 in that catalogue?

    • Not on it's own, but there is 15% off cameras and Olympus is included

  • Poor reviews :(

These style cameras rarely review well. People buy them expecting them to take photos as good as other similarly priced non tough cameras but they aren't meant to. Compromises have to be made somewhere for all the gaskets etc that keep these things waterproof at the price they do.

I have one of these and take it to the beach, camping, hiking etc. I used to take my good camera to the beach but was always worried about it being stolen while I was in the water. Now I just stick the camera in my pocket and dive in the water and don't have to worry. The photos the camera take are more than adequate quality for action shots in and around the water and the underwater ones are phenomenal.

Thank you for the posting MaXcon, I bought one when they came up online a couple of hours ago. $283 with some gift cards…I had a good play with one today and it is a fantastic buy at the price. Was never going to pay nearly $600 for any of these.
I use an FT3 for work and used within its limitations this has delivered some stunning underwater shots. As a shallow dive and dirty, muddy, swim camera this will work out fine. I was going to just buy a secondhand earlier FT but this is a good price for the features. I intend to give this camera a miserable existence and it will be fine.

I am fine with the bad Amazon reviews. Talos hit the nail on the head with it. The more expert reviews seem realistic about its design and price point and compare pretty well with my experience of these cameras. If I want sharp, clean underwater shots I’ll put my decent camera in a housing and buy a proper strobe with it.
