that's school holidays. The best fares for that time of year come out in August year before.
Expect to pay something like $1500 or more, unless you can either go a few days before school holidays start &/or come home a few days fater schools start back. Be aware that school holidays are different in every state & other private schools have longer holidays, meaning some Brisbane people might fly in Qld school holidays via Sydney to get to USA, as much cheaper than nonstop, as NSW school holidays might not have started, plus many more airlines fly Syd/LA nonstop (5 I think) whereas on 2 out of Bris.
Flight centre were advertising these flights this morning for $899 versus $749 here. They really can't be trusted for best prices any more.

Now they even removed the price match with further co tribution to their "best price" on accomamdation.
I think back in 2000-01 they were pretty reliable. Downhill a long way since then.

Yes, recent. There have been some discussions about that here… Really takes away any reason to buy from them I think

Is STA travel bettet trusted agent? As i need to book one for my trip later this year.
Travelled to the USA late last year with STA, they were fantastic, all done by phone too and saved me heaps. At short notice I did Syd-Lax United return $894 non stop. Always can find cheaper but reqs extra stops or need to book well before. When their Syd Office closes phone's at 5pm from mem, the Perth office will still answer which was a plus for me at the time.

Flown this leg before, great economy product; seats very comfortable and great entertainment. However, the extra hours added for the stopover in Auckland really stings. Next time I'll definitely fly direct with Virgin or something similar.
$699 is the target price, now and forever
It’s such a shame AirNZ and VA are no longer partners. The QF alliance with AirNZ makes no sense other than spite for VA.
Any recommended dates between these periods? Would love to take family abroad.
