Popped into Bourke St Starbucks late yesterday and saw a yoghurt in the food window. It had no price so I asked the cashier and it was just over $2. I noticed the register said 50% off and I queried it, and I was told almost all food related items after 6pm are half price. They were busy so I did not hold up the line to get finer details, but though I would share this.
Hoping someone can advise of any exceptions/conditions, etc.

 - Seems pretty inconsistent with Colesworth in my experience. What state are you in?
I find only some of the items are reduced, but it's definitely something to check anyway. I got some breads 80% off the other day. - I am in WA, and I work for Woolworths and I know my store nearly does it every night. It's 6 to 6.30is every night and around 4pm on the weekends. - 9Am for rest of the store everyday - What time does your Woolies close? I never see bakery items reduced that early. - @ascorbic: 9pm week days
5pm weekends- We are not that busy hence we have to reduce it earlier. - But ask your local store - @Vancomycin 1000mg: That's so strange because over here in Victoria, most supermarkets close between 10pm and midnight. Even on weekends, I don't know any Coles/Woolies that closes before 9pm.

 - Checked my local Coles at quarter to 9pm and there's nothing discounted.

 - Awesome. Thanks
 - Doesnt seem to be case in all Starbucks, asked about it at Town Hall and they said no.
 - Same with soul origin shops
 - I have been getting 5 and 6$ meals from IKU a pricey organic food chain in the 12-15$ range.. usually starts at 5:30.

This is also the case with Woolworths/Coles, nearly all instore baked breads are reduced to 50% off after 6 pm or 4pm on the weekends.
