Bought one and used for a couple of months. It was good until few days ago the glass body cracked. Luckily no hot water was in the kettle.

Lodged a case with their customer support and got no response. No idea what to do next.

    • Generally Kogan replaces their product when it breaks under warranty. Did you get automated response to your email with some reference number? If not it might not have logged any complaint in their system. Try again.

      • Yes I did get an automatic reply e-mail but nothing else and it has been 2 days.

I thought someone would contact me regarding what will happen next?

Whats smart about it? Just this:

    Keep Warm function with 50°, 70°, 80° & 90°C settings
Different coloured LED lights depending on the temperature

It boils water without burning it.

    • My Shipster not loading, Shipping is $11 Melb metro which kills it. No deal.

  • next cheapest temp control kettle would be kmart which is $50- 60.

Is there any advantage to glass kettles over stainless steel, or just a fashion trend with an obvious disadvantage in that glass easily breaks?

You will be able to see the scale buildup in the kettle with glass.

      • You can see that in a regular kettle by opening the lid.

        • Have had glass but I find myself compelled to clean it every few months due to the scale buildup inside. The buildup is why a quiet kettle gets noisy so it happens to all of them but with stainless you do not have to look at it.

          • @GRP: Just boil a lemon slice

@berserkk: Since switching to filtered water (jug type), our glass kettle has remained crystal clear. Always used to get scale using water direct from the tap.

    • Its pretty.

Some have pretty lights that light up the water like this one does.

      The future is so exciting.

  • Bot mine previously at $35 with free shipping. Cheapo Top cover latch stopped working after a while and cannot be held to body unless u fiddled with it. Next, the kettle just turned on, on its own, beeping away and it can no longer boil water. Koga came back after a long while advising to perform a power cycle which fixed it. (1st time ever had to do this for any consumer product) Then, it began to emit a burning smell at the base and i just couldnt take it anymore. By then it was past 3mths and kogan can only replace 1-for-1 rather than refund. Sent a nasty email and they relented finally to make exception for refund. Just a lot of frustration dealing with their cheapo products and time consuming customer support

    • "advising to perform a power cycle which fixed it."

User: My kettle has stopped working
Support: Have you tried turning it off and back on again
      User: Whut

  • So far so good after 2 months of use.
