The 55" has been averaging $700~ the last few weeks. So unless you want a smaller TV for more, I'd hold off on this

  At first I was of the same belief but after doing some research on here it seems unlikely that 49" will go on sale into the sub $800 price ranges any time soon (I may be wrong). It seems that 48/49/50 Inch TV's are more popular and do not come on sale as much but the 55" are being reduced constantly. Based on the previous research I think $850ish is a great price for this particular model.

      All comes down to living room size for mine, the extra 6" looks too big in the living space.

This isn't a good price at all. The 49 uses an inferior panel too.

  Thanks. Was thinking maybe 43/49" were a higher end model. Hence not as cheap as the lower end 50/55 thats always on special cheaper. Unless you go for some off brand model and not Samsung, Sony, Panasonic LG.
