PS4 Link EXPIRED

Amazon appears to be price matching the Big W price error, but with free shipping and likely less chance of order cancellation. RRP $169.95, will presumably revert to $149 when Big W corrects their price error.

Thanks OP, ended up buying it. Loved the First 2 Metro games.
Also only the standard shipping is free, takes 2-5 business days, expedited (same day) costs $5.xx or free with prime (which I don't have).

Does this mean Amazon price matching is automated to some extent? Price matching a clear price error seems an odd mistake for a human to make.

In any case, I ordered it; I loved the first two and the PC version is ruled out for various well-known reasons for me.

    • They justt check ozbargain

    • Yes, my understanding is most of their price matching is algorithmic.

  • Get to it! Big W has reverted the price back to $149.

  • PS4 version is back up, Xbox one isn't.

  • +2

Why would the normal price of this be more than double the base game? Doesn't make sense to me.

  • waiting for my $10 voucher for the price error

  • Got the PS4 version before it went back up… guess I'll have to play the original games now!

  • +1

Anyone know if it’ll be released on the 15th like other retailers say? Amazon says the 22nd..

    • +1

I spoke to an Amazon rep yesterday who said that it was an error and it should be corrected to the 15th after verifying with their fulfillment services.

It was supposed to be updated within 24 hours, but that hasn't happened obviously. I'll try them again today.

      • They have since sent out an email confirming the change to the 15th.

  • ill wait for a price drop. i have too many games to play atm.

  • Cheers OP!

  • Thanks OP! I also had an online chat with them telling them the release date is the 15th rather than the 22nd that they have.

    • What was their response?

      • They said they will pass the info on to the people responsible.

  • So will Amazon honour the $79 price?

    • +1

Yeah, they usually do. I once got NBA 2019 for $30 due to a pricing error- which they fixed quite quickly. When the game released, they shipped it out to me on time without any extra charges.

I ordered Metro (only because the price was too good, outside all the controversy).

      • Ah sweet thanks, yeah I ordered this game for the same reasons. Had a good experience with the previous Metro games, and the sandbox gameplay on this one looks amazing.

Metro withdrew PC version from Steam and moved it over to Epic Games.

    Lame!

Love Metro but they have messed with their fan base here.

Hold off buying until it's under $40

    • +5

Who cares what platform it's on.

      • -3

Nah man, it's anti-consumer. It's not about the platform it's on, it's about the dev's response to it. The fact that they said something to likes of "buy it otherwise there will be no future PC versions of Metro games" was appalling.

        • +3

The publisher honoured all Steam pre-orders and future DLC purchases.

The game is $10 cheaper on the Epic Store and is only a 'timed exclusive', so it will be available on Steam at some point (and maybe GOG?).

Steam is still the market leader in PC game digital sales and has held a monopoly for years in this sector.

The comment by a 4A staffer on Reddit was just one pi$$ed off guy venting about how they've worked tirelessly on the Metro series (and in very financially lean times) and more money secures the future of the series. The publisher Koch/Deep Silver also came out and addressed the Dev's comments (creators get protective of their work).

So, how is any of this 'anti consumer'?

  • Xbox One edition back up to $139.00 as well.

  • The Xbox One Aurora Version is #1 in Video Games on Amazon currently. Wow, I wonder how many people jumped on that price drop, and will it cost Amazon or is it a nice little earner for them? The fact it was almost half price makes me think they lost out quite a bit, but the devs and publishers would be happy!

    • Even though their page claims that it ships on the 13th for arrival on the 15th, it's nearly 8:30pm on the 13th with no sign of shipping, so who knows what's going on with these - anyone else had theirs ship?

      • I came here to ask the same thing. No notification for me as well. I wonder how successful Amazon's release date shipping generally is?

        • I've had the money taken out of my credit card today.

Usually only happens when they ship it - but no shipping notifications yet.

          • @rysith: I just checked and I got charged today as well. I guess it'll be here Monday at earliest then. Not that I particularly mind, but still.

            • @skrot: Shipping info just received, looks like the $79 Aurora edition is on it's way :)

      • yeah mine was cancelled also :( It's annoying they left it to the last minute to do this.

  • Anyone know if amazon will honour the price?

    • Hopefully they do. Please don't be one of these people that inquires with Amazon and ruins it for everyone :) Let's just wait and see what happens next week.

      • +1

Haha don't worry I won't. Just be careful aware there was a deal posted previously the division 2 gold edition preorder on pc for $69. A month after it suddenly changed on the amazon product page to the standard edition without any emails or any notifications. It was confirmed beforehand by amazon customer reps that we ordered the gold edition.

  • I wonder what the expansion pass will ultimately include. More story DLC?

    • +1

Most definitely. From what I've read it'll be a mix of free updates and paid single player DLC.

I don't see them pursuing multiplayer.

  • They just cancelled my order at the last minute citing lack of stock. Anyone else?

    • +2

Yep. Bullshit to do it Thursday night at 10pm

    • +2

Mine got canned as well, at 11pm before day of release. Prime is useless. You can still order it, so their excuse of lack of stock is crap. https://www.amazon.com.au/Metro-Exodus-Aurora-Xbox-One/dp/B0…

    • Yup, mine too. So fkn mad.

    • Mine actually got cancelled 9am this morning, the day of release. Pretty poor effort.

  • Mine shipped and is due to arrive today. Maybe some slipped through before they realised the big loss.

  • Apparently mine has been delivered this morning so will report back after work.

    • Yep all there. (Xbox version)

  • Mine cancelled this morning

  • Mine was cancelled but I just reordered the product and complained to them. This order has now shipped and they have confirmed they will refund the difference. Might be worth a shot also for those that were cancelled.

  • Received Xbox One Aurora Version from Amazon, $79. Thanks OP, loading up now and looks amazing!

    • Got mine (Xbox) too. Guess we got lucky.

  • Xbox One version cancelled. I was really looking forward to playing it tomorrow and found an email from the 15th saying it was cancelled.
