ShopBack Not Tracking Expensive Orders

Hi,

So I have come to a conclusion that when I make a cheap purchase on Amazon, ShopBack will track the order straight away, anything up to $300. First time it didn't track was a $1800 which was 1.5 months ago, I tried claiming through their website but seems to be hopeless. Yesterday I make a purchase of a camera body and lens which total $2800 and again it doesn't track. I am doing everything correctly, I add the items to cart after I activate shopback I even have their extension which is lit green…
I am not sure if Cash Rewards has any issues with it's tracking, but I feel very upset for using ShopBack as I am missing nearly $300 of cash back so far.
I am highly suspecting that they are actually getting commission for my purchases but simply don't pay out when it comes to $$$. Anyone else with similar issues?

    • I have the same experience here. On the leap year sale, shopback has increased the Myer 10% cashback to 15%. I made 3 transactions 30 minutes apart. The most expensive one, $400, they said cannot be claimed due to reasons they already said above. But I havent done anything different from the other 2 transactions. Another thing for the other 2 that got tracked, I had to email them and chase the cashback. They did not track automatically. I really find this a bit fishy. They probably will just pocket the commission for my transaction.

What's annoying is I bought a 400 giftcard with a 7% discount from my wife's company thinking I could use it in conjuction with the cashback but upon reading the terms before the promotion, I realised that I could not use it. So to maximise the discount, I went with just shopback with a credit card purchase. I am keep my 400 giftcard now for another in store purchase. Anyway, looks like they have just been ignoring my messages now. What the guys here have said feels very much like what will happen, they will pocket the commission on the expensive purchases.

  • A bit late to the party but I am having issues with my shopback eBay purchase on a large ticket item. I am going back and forth with their customer service but I suspect I'll have no luck.

Anyone know where to escalate such a claim, eg to someone in shopback management? Sadly I don't think they fall under any ombudsman or customer body that we can escalate to.

    Thanks

Not much you can do about it….
You'll never know if the cashback wasn't approved, or they just don't pay out.
Next time stick with cashrewards, at least they provide you with customer support if anything goes wrong.

  • Not sure if I came late to the party as well but I got both claims rejected on Mydeal and Banggood. They said none of them are eligible and both transactions were more than $300 each. By the way all my transactions less than $50 tracked nicely.
