  • Does this one have NFC?

Android Central says yes : https://www.androidcentral.com/mobvoi-ticwatch-pro

But no mention of it in the specs at Kogan? Does the Aussie model not have it?

    Anyone know?

There's a picture that says pay with Google pay using your watch on the Kogan listing so I'm guessing it does

    • Can confirm it does I've used it a couple of times now.

It would have to have NFC to support Google pay right?

    • Yep, it kinda DOES mention I guess 6th picture across in the catalogue. I missed it reading the blurb and tech specs.

      Surprised it's not more prominent.

      Thanks!

    Opps, price error…

  • How does this compare to the Huawei GT watch?

Dicksmith is also the same price if anyone cares, maybe better for warranty or something? not sure

dicksmith is also owned by Kogan

      • ah…. ok that i didnt know!

  • How's this compared to galaxy watch 46mm ?

    • +2

There are a few comparison vids on YouTube from owners of both devices. I've got a galaxy watch and really tempted to try an android watch again, but tech youtubers seem to think wearos is still not up to scratch.

Rumour mill has Google potentially hiring an exec to head up build for a Google pixel watch. Could be excellent for the platform moving forward if someone dedicated came on board

      • Yeah I have watched few videos on the two seems the galaxy is a better longer lasting watch I guess it comes down to what you can afford

  • it says IP68, can you swim with it?

    • I don't believe so, the s2 I think is the swimming one, but would love it if this or the C2 were good for swimming.

      https://www.mobvoi.com/au/products/ticwatchs2

      • s2 is actually cheaper, the normal price is $283, pro is $315

    • Not designed for swimming but I've had it in the pool and it's fine for casual use

  • I'd wait for the next generation of Snapdragons for Wearables, battery life is still pretty bad on current gen. Also rumors of a Pixel Watch next year.

Have been using mine for a couple of months now and I would give it 9/10. There are a few minor things that I don't particularly like about the watch but its probably a personal preference thing. I have used mine for hikes, bike ride in the recent downpour, in the shower and pretty much everywhere. Battery life is as good as it can be on a wearable. I track all my outdoor activities and with the GPS and HR running for up to 8-9 hours the battery is still around the 50% mark. The adaptive screen is a great idea and good enough to be viewed in direct sunlight. The 2 physical buttons are a good idea. You can configure one of the buttons to take you directly to the app of your choice. There is 24 Hr HR monitoring, NFC, 22mm interchangeable strap and plenty of cool Ticwatch watch faces. I bought mine directly from Mobivoi and got a free TicBand. I wear the Ticband at night while the Tic pro is being charged and the band does an excellent job at tracking sleep and providing that information via the app.

    • How long does it take to charge? My current Sony SW3 takes about 30 mins to fully charge. On the fence with this or a C2.

      • Yea about the same time I would say. Comes down to the charger you're using too.

    • What's the longest you've run on GPS?

I want a watch for marathon tracking (4.5h on GPS), and didn't want a Samsung or a Garmin.
Couldn't find anything on WearOS that lasted long enough.

      • As I mentioned earlier, I track all my outdoor activities and with the GPS and HR running for up to 8-9 hours the battery is still around the 50% mark.

If you're looking at buying I suggest go through the Mobvoi website directly to get the free Ticband.

        • Cool, thanks. Just wanted to double check it was 8-9 hours of continuous GPS - so i can be confident it can last the distance for what I need.
