  • How good are those drill bits?

Ryobi bits are soft, helps save screw heads etc. The impact range is a lot stronger and better for stripping screw heads. Ryobi is a diy only range.

If it's anything like the smaller set, not great. I've had most break with just hand torque in a screwdriver and definitely not for use with impacts.

Irwin impact bits are better. Would assemble hundreds of school tables a week using those and they broke a lot less often.

Ryobi drill bits are awful. They are not good value at any price.

    • They’re good for destroying instead of your good set.

  • lucky you. went to my local last friday and they had one shelf at the entrance of sub par ( & still overpriced) lighting etc. absolutely nothing of interest….first time i walked out with $0 spent in a long time! i guess a win for me :P

Cheap against RRP. But very poor value.

I paid ~$50 for the 300pc set around 12 months ago. It's basically disposable-grade junk. Even putting some 2" self-tapping screws into chipboard can be enough to round-out the heads of these bits.

  • Better than Craft Right. But that ain’t saying much…

  • slippy bits. theres a reason they are discounted. stick with milwaukee, dewalt, makita, irwin, aeg. in that order. for milwaukee and makita hit up sydney tools. irwin and aeg are pretty good.

  • Based on the feedback will avoid these at all cost. Thanks for posting nonetheless.

If you can afford better quality then buy better. This stuff is on discount. I own and use ryobi bits. Yes they are soft. Yes they round screw heads and bits, yes they rust if left outside. However having said this. I have a ryobi drill and 68 piece set which has put together a ikea kitchen without to much trouble. For anyone that knows anything about ikea kitchens you will know it involves hundreds upon hundreds of screws, hex bolts and the like to be drilled.

  • I just picked up the 300 pcs kit for $25 on special in bunnings blagowlah. They also had a 300pcs craftright set next to it, also for $25, probably more drill bits rather than screw bits but it's also in a huge case.
