2-4 Day Easter Getaway Ideas From Sydney?

Hi OB,

Just wondering if anyone has good ideas for a 2-4 day getaway from Sydney? (I'll be going during Easter)

Two years ago I did a trip to Melbourne and loved the city. Beautiful, full of class, culture, food and chilly weather.

The year before, I planned a hike to Mt. Kosciuszko and climb Australia's highest summit. Perfect weather, not too hot or cold for the hike.

I was thinking of a getaway to Port Stephens/Anna Bay or just Jervis Bay this year? Wondering if you guys can help me maximize these 4 days.

I did Port Stephens Recently - Some interesting things to see

    1. The wildlife park - It is awesome for kids and even adults
    2. Bagnalls Beach
    3. Try and do a camel ride or beach quad biking at Stockton

The list could go on, but Port Stephens is a fantastic area.

  • We went to Jervis Bay in spring a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it.

  • To piggyback off of this, any ideas for somewhere cool to go over the public holidays that is accessible by public transport (we don't drive) and that won't cost five arms and legs?

Have you looked into Grey Hound Australia ? They do bus tours which might be a good option since they drive you all over places. Other than that, Blue Mountains is a fantastic place to go to during Autumn season.

  • There's a festival in Thredbo at that time:

  • I did a road trip with my husband's side last year to the Hunter Valley. Loved every bit of it. We brought board games and stayed in at night, during the day we explored the gardens, tasted a lot of wine and did bits of shopping. I also brought along my (then) 2year old!
