Can anyone living in the Western suburbs recommend a local reliable plumber that they had used before for a job. The shower drain in my house is not connected to the storm water drain. Although I can see the pipe sitting on the floor disconnected.
I used plumbfirst for a previous job where they ripped me off but managed to use free call out to get a quote - which they quoted $700 as they were going to install some clamps etc etc to hold the drain pipe to the floor.

Try have a look at airtasker. There are some qualifier tradies operating out of it and they provide user reviews.

Found a plumber from Brunswick through serviceseeking.com. He did a pretty good job and only cost 1/3 of what Plumbfirst quoted me. Using him to another job as well. Thanks guys.

I've used Titan Plumbing (located in Altona) and found them to be competent and costs were reasonable. I have also been ripped off by Plumbfirst.
