  • good price - can anyone comment on the membership? is it worth it?

      Not really.

I found every "bulk item" while cheaper than RRP at supermarket you can get cheaper at supermarket on special and just buy a heap then.

Maybe if you live nearby and can go in often, if you really love Dr Pepper or Lays chips and want to get for a decent price?

Downvoted to hell but no one can prove me wrong.

Anything there that is "cheap in bulk" you can get cheaper elsewhere. Paper towel, toilet paper, bin bags, glad wrap, sandwich bags, long life milk, soft drinks, tinned vegetables - all things I thought was smart getting in bulk there when I had membership, but when I worked it out and checked prices when Woolies or Coles had on sale price they were heaps cheaper per item.

And the meat - it's overpriced. Most places will have a wholesale type butcher that does retail/counter sales. In Melbourne I found Oakdale Meats you'd get like whole Scotch Fillet $10/kg and stuff. Just seemed people buying the meat who just didn't know better.

If there wasn't the membership fee I'd consider it for the convenience, but you're paying a membership and still not even getting the cheapest price.

        • i + you man!

        • I joined just for the baby back ribs…$16/kg by the box (around 15kg). Haven't been able to find anywhere that sells decent baby backs in Sydney, closest I've found are some Asian butchers who have St Louis style with a heap of belly meat but not the same and cost around $21/kg.

Saving 15 x $5 a few times a year covers membership and then some.

Weather stations (gifted a few), microfibre towels, cashews, paper plates, bin liners, chest freezer….

Not everything's cheaper but there's enough to keep me going back

Our membership pays for itself in a few tanks of petrol there. But even before that we still thought it was worth it with bulk buying things like paper towel, baby wipes, sauces and oils etc
You can grab some great random buys of brand name clothes too that they get in and their meat is great quality!

  • Anyone used this before?

    • Unsure which model I had, it works great for the shower screen.

  • Can u post up your receipt or a photo of the tag?
    when is it till?

  • Interesting, frustrating. Went into Bunnings Vermont South and they had it at $165. Tried a price match. Took 4 people to try to work out whether it could be done. Rang Costco and they confirmed the price. In the end, the supposed manager says he can’t do it because ‘the price discrepancy is too much. ’ He says that he had discretion to do this. To which I asked, what’s the point of a price beat ‘guarantee’ And what in the terms and conditions that says you can’t do this. He had no reply, just said he won’t do it. Any thoughts or experiences with Bunnings?

  • Anyone seen these in Melboune? None at Moorabbin

Rang Costco yesterday as per above comment, none in Melbourne. Was told only Crossroad and Sydney.
