Best digital photo frame ever :)

    • Hang a 7" phone off the wall would be the same

  • I doubt I'm the target audience but how does this enrich my life? $172 to show the same information that's on my phone?

    • saves ur phone's battery life by letting u see the info on this.

    • I think it's for trendy people who cook while reading recipes.
What I don't get is this vs a tablet on a stand for the same price.

    • It's probably been established by now that some people don't see the need for these or for smart watches or anything else that's not a phone.

It's a home assistant, like the little round ones but it has a screen which gives you a few more options on what it can do.

The feature that sells it is it's ambient light thing and it's ability to get photos from the cloud. It adjust really well to the light so, unlike the classic digital photo frame it's not a bright burning beacon in the corner. I have mine nestled in amongst photo frames and it looks really nice. At night it dims to the faintest of clocks. You can also add photos from the internet, so no fiddling about with SD cards etc.

Anyway, this is about $50 cheaper than Officeworks at the moment. So bargain.

Yeah I recently upgraded from a Google Home Mini to this. I got mine a bit cheaper at $120 (second hand but new). If you've already got a home assistant device it's a worthy upgrade, although maybe a bit harder to justify at $172

Considering all of my family photos are in Google Photo's it's nice to have it cycle through on the bedside. Already in the first couple of weeks my wife and I have been seeing photo's we'd completely forgotten about and reminiscing. The visual weather, youtube, viewing security cameras etc are nice to have as well, but I was happy to pay just for the photo option as it hooks into the smarts of google photo's better than other "smart" photo frames.

Was thinking about that, I've got a $100 OW giftcard :p

So they've matched the 5% offed price then good to know :)

Just did same - thanks for the tip.

  • Annoyed I missed the seemingly countless Home Mini sales (wasn’t event aware of how helpful they could be back then).. since then, barely a price reduction has appeared..

    • Just get them from Gumtree or fb marketplace.

    • Yeah at one stage I picked up 2 for $70 December 2017 from a HN deal. Wasn't sure at the time but at $35 each why not? Glad I did now. I have 1 GH, and 3 GM scattered around the house and the kids use it for their school calendars, adding things to the shopping list when we run out, daily news/weather, and I like them having them in their room because I can broadcast anything I wish to say to them, and also Spotify all over the house, list really does go on and on and on.

      So damn handy.

  • You can get gh mini for $55 from bunning. Not the cheapest but decent. Even some shit bt speakers cost that much, I buy one for my kids bed time song,
