McDonald's Used Chicken & Cheese Patty in a McChicken and Said Its The Same

Went to a Mcdonalds today, ordered a McChicken meal (Usual), took a bite and noticed it was dry, upon looking I noticed it was a Chicken n Cheese Patty. Had to drive back to the store and ask them wth happened.

They explained since they were out of cooked McChicken patties they used the Chicken & Cheese one because it was busy lunch hour. They tried to push it off as if it was the same thing.

Got a refund instead. Deceptive practices by Mcdonalds, using a lower quality patty for the more expensive option burger. Basically paying more for just lettuce and no cheese in their eyes. Since it's the 'same thing'.

Edit: Woo ;]

I was never convinced thay we were doomed as a species until I read OPs post.

According to them its the same patty

Now it is possible they gave you the patty used in the classic chicken or clubhouse

  • +2

    Oh wtf? they're different patties?

I thought they were the same on both burgers…

    • -3

They say they are the same, but when you taste and compare side to side, they are definitely something odd about the chicken n cheese patty.

      • +10

Could be the cheese they put on it.

        • +3

One has iceberg lettuce and the other has melted cheese yet they don't they taste the same. How can you explain that??

    • +7

They are the exact same patties.

They are the same patties. Source: Friend is a manager at McDonalds.

Oh, the outrage! How dare they! Please tell me you “spoke to the manager” and let them know you’ll never be back. Absolutely outrageous. How do these McDonald’s workers sleep at night? I hope someone lost their job! Have you tried escalating it to head office?

Deceptive practices… get over yourself. Only deceptive practice here is opening this sub forum thinking there’s going to be a quality thread and finding out it’s just another self entitled shitpost…

    • +2

      Savage.

      • +1

We were getting the shitpost either way.

Maccas changes the patty because they ran out, we get this thread.

Maccas tells OP, no McChicken patties, would OP like something else and the thread would have been… “How can Maccas run out of patties. Forced to eat Fillet ‘O Fish” instead when I didn’t want to. Should I get compensation for their lack of patties?”

        • +2

Maccas changes the patty because they ran out, we get this thread.

Here's the kicker… it's the same patty from day one…

            @Hybroid: I know! The irony isn’t lost on me…

Whoever explained to you those were 2 different kinds of patties should have been fired on the spot.

Like Maccas would take the time to come up with a new type of patties just for the promotion alone. I believe that Maccas believes in economy of scale. It is cheaper to use what they already have for this loss leader option (also mcdoubles) than to create a new patty, ie, new r&d (albeit not a lot of creativity) and new production line.

Wait, why did i reply to this post so seriously? haha. I used to work at Maccas, and had i been one you asked about this, I would have had a post here saying there was a person that asked this hilarious and anal question.

TL:DR McChicken patties are dry af. The only reason sometime you don't find it dry is because they accidentally put extra mayo haha.

    • They do have 2 chicken patty's - one is used for the mc chicken and chicken and cheese , the other is used for chicken clubhouse and classic chicken

        You made me hungry.

      • The other one is not the topic of this dícussion. However, since we are talking about it, there are actually 3 types, the one for mc chicken, then crispy chucken patty and grilled chicken patty. The crispy one is pretty good.

    a lower quality patty

All their patties (and burgers) are low quality and very cheap to make.

So whats the idea of the thread? You drove back, complained, they gave you a refund?

Yet you still need a thread to complain? FWP

    They are the same patties

If they’re dried out, it just means they’ve been sitting in a warmer for a while

i didn't realise that anyone that ate macdonalds would notice anything about dry or taste, well done.

    • Speaking of Maccas chicken burgers and taste, the spicy double McChickens are great!

  • I don't know what it is, but when i got the chicken mcfeast, the patty was garbage and certainly looked thinner than the mcchicken patty.

You felt the need to whinge about this here?! Seriously?! Are you 12?!

How dare McDonald's do this! I am writing a petition this moment and getting everyone I know to sign it so I can personally deliver it to the PM.

I honestly can't believe you felt the need to post about this.
