  Correct me if I’m wrong but booking a hotel with QF means you can also earn off the hotels loyalty program also? I booked a hotel with QF and gave IHG my ref number and now I’m listed on the IHG app for the stay

    I think it varies by hotel, but often it doesn't.

    It depends. E.g. Accor doesn't earn points if you book from QF

      You should compare the prices to booking direct - a lot of hotel chains give members an extra discount.
      You may also miss out on perks of your hotel membership (eg Accor upgrades, welcome drink, etc) if you don't book direct.

    Hilton also doesn't. Many chain hotels will not award points after the stay if you book via 3rd party. And many hotels will not honour any benefits if you have status. So you may see the hotel in your hotel site account, but history tells us that they rarely award hotel loyalty points as well. But if you use cashrewards, then you do get the benefits / hotel points as you aren't using an aggregation site e.g expedia, Qantas, booking.com etc. So you need to determine which is best financially.
