      NFC doesn't add noticeable cost for chop ….too lazy to add the code to support it ….

    Their target markets are mainly India and China - where NFC is still not that important (and neither do Band 28).

    Fingers crossed they will add NFC on the Redmi Note 7 Pro version which is due to release in next month or so.

    NFC is not used in china. QR codes are used to pay. hauwei only has it on its flagships

      It might be cost cutting and keeping sku's down too. considering most of who xioami sell to which is china, india and mostly asian countries it doesn't really make since to keep a few people happy.
      Those markets are very price sensitive.
