    Moscow Electric Mountain Bike

In Soviet Russia, bike pedals you

      Put it in "H"!

  • Rode a 250w bike, it's barely registerable unless they're running at max (so quarter that range before recharge) and even then, unless you're doing a lot of hill climbing, you'll be using less effort to pedal a lighter regular old bike

A couple of the components are a bit disappointing.
    7 speed cassette? That's like a Big W bike.
Mechanical disk brakes, like a Big W bike.
Though I see they have the plus version with hydraulic brakes and some more battery.
8 or 9 speed cassette with hydraulic brakes would be more attractive than a bit more battery.

  • so sounds like there are better options out there…..what are we looking at around this price range?

  • I am not sure but few friends of mine disappointed with their ebikes

    1) There is a little or no information about bike itself and very difficult to put them together

    2) Their performance are exaggerated usually in respect of power and distance they can travel

    3) I am not aware if anything goes wrong how to deal with parts (and spare batteries) or throw it to recycle centers.

    • … and I know we all have to discover it for ourselves (me included!) but many of us think an eBike is the answer where in fact a basic, lightweight & inexpensive single or 3-Speed bike is all many really need for casual road & path riding or commuting. I went to town building a custom eBike many years ago simply to commute to work. I don't regret it as it was fun designing, building & modifying it however after only about 4-6 months I decided to try powering a standard bicycle with my own legs and I haven't looked back since! There is absolutely a place for eBikes however a regular non-motorised bike isn't difficult to pedal and is a lot more rewarding across the board. Disabilities or extreme long distances or extreme hills are the exception of course.

    Moscow Electric Mountain Bike

Can’t see many people Russian to get this.

  • It dosent mention what brand battery cells they use. I bought a e-bike with unknown battery cells and the battery died only after 800km. As it was over a year I didn't get any warranty and Now I need to find a way to fix it and not pay another 700 dollars for the same shitty battery from the bike shop. Would not buy a ebike without good cells like samsung or Panasonic ever again.

  • I am looking for ebike for my wife. I want her to also enjoy the ride without the physical limitation. I ride a normal mountain bike.

Did a bit of research on NMC. They also sell in UK and Germany. Designed in German but of course made-in China. Their key selling point is their X15 motor. Battery is on the larger size (at least for Moscow).
I also checked their website, they sell battery replacement for reasonable price.
Furthermore, the business just started in Australia. Checked their facebook as well. So looks like a legitimate business and hopefully stays long in Australia.

Still need to decide whether to go with this or one in eBay with better design & hydraulic brake selling for $960.
