Found this deal while searching for the best price on a big bluetooth speaker. Current price at HN is $327.
There have been a few firmware updates since its launch that make it a lot louder and increase the bass so keep that in mind when looking at older reviews.
Unsure how many are in stock as its not listed, i just purchased one however.

  • Is there a process to update firmware on these speakers?

    • yes, you download the JBL app, connect to the speaker and it will prompt to upgrade. Pretty easy :)

      • I'd that with all JBL speakers? I think I have the flip 4.

yep, if theres a firmware upgrade available the app will tell you

  • I've used the JBL Charge 3 and it was absolutely fantastic - with this being the next model again I really feel you're getting a lot of speaker for the money.

Bought this for $249 during Boxing Day sales and love it!! I've been really impressed with it.

    Definitely recommend.

  • Know what you're getting here before you buy. The batteries - the only power source - in this have an abysmally short (imo) product life. Some report 18 months, wife's has just failed (to recharge) after about 2 years of moderate use. Great sound for the device type but it's made to be used for a short time then thrown in the garbage. What is the point of making a decent sounding bluetooth speaker where you can't (easily, and relatively inexpensively) replace the rechargeable power source? Needless to say no other JBL products will ever cross our doorstep.

Damn thats unlucky. My Charge 2 has had its 3 birthday (bought in boxing day sales of 2015) and i still get atleast 6 or 7 hours out of the battery. I guess your mileage will vary like any consumer device.

  • I received mine today. Its a very sizeable unit. Currently sitting on my desk charging, will have to give it a test run tonight once home. Interested to see how it compares to the Charge 2 it is replacing.
