Crazy…. is this the Iphone of lego ?

    • At with iPhone you can make calls take photos do emails and get stuff done.

This you probably can take it apart and make the same thing again

Guess there is a market for this too !

The Death Star also lets you destroy small planets if you buy the Power Functions option.

        Much better value IMHO.

Check stocks of Death Star only 267 of em :)

    • Phew! And how many Skywalkers do we have?

That time-lapse saved me a grand 2 months ago. Lol. Thanks to whoever posted it in the comments previously ;-)

    • That's a lot of grey

Falcon though think can get at around $950 firing a 10% Code to $850's so not that excited . My goal to get around $800 one day . Been on a downward spiral for a while .

    • Yeah same. $800 and I'm in like Finn

  • That's a good amount of savings considering many enthusiasts would have bought them at full RRP when it was first launched.

Hah bought mine for $1,040 8 months ago and still sitting there in it's brown cardboard box.
It's a truely amazing set (and worth every cent imo) but don't have the space to display it, so it'll sit there for now waiting to be unleashed one day.

I was going to buy it regardless of the price considering I missed out on the first UCS Lego Falcon ~10 years ago and was over the moon when they confirmed the re-release.

    • That’s like my collection too.. I have boxes occupying 1/4 of a bedroom ‘just waiting for my to magically have an extra room or office to build a lego city/world

just waiting for someone to post the comment about being able to buy the Lepin version (identical) on aliexpress for a third of the price, and that comment being shot down in flames.

    • Actually….someone bought me the Lepin version.

Don’t shoot me down, it wasn’t my fault!

How was it? Loads of reviews say it's excellent?

I have both the lepin and the lego version. One to fondle and one to sit in a brown box in a spare bedroom (like above). Lepin is pretty damn good on plastic build quality. Few little things. Some parts dont fit together as tightly as they could. The sides of the engines come off quite easily. And a few parts were miss cast and missing. Lepin I got in China for about $150 the Lego version i bought here for about $1000.

However, its not fair to compare. Firstly, Lego is PAYING for the rights to produce the star wars gear in comparison with Lepin "Star Plan". Its also not fair because Lego actually invented the design and Lepin ripped it off. So I get annoyed when people say Lepin is cheaper. Yeah because they ripped Lego and Disney off.

        • It looks amazing. If I had the cash I’d buy the real thing.

The quality is about 80% of Lego. Some pieces are crap eg the axles just don’t grip and constantly slip through plates. And given axles hold the legs to the body that’s pretty annoying. But overall, all pieces snap together well.

Colours seem to be fine too. But then again 90% of them are grey so this set is not a good gauge of colour accuracy.

The big downer is that the pieces arrived in plastic shopping bags that were stuffed into a box. As such, none of the pieces were sorted. I spent days sorting pieces by colour, shape etc.

And then there’s the instructions…my god they’re terrible. The steps don’t go in order. It’s as if they cut and paste the real instructions and made them fit however on a page.

Finally, the minifigs are laughable. It’s as if they put random hair, torsos and arms together. For example, Luke’s hair is from a Lego Friend’s set, it even has a hole in it for a flower.

All up it took me about 25hrs to build, which was spread out over a few weeks.

I’ve been told the set cost $150 AUD. I think that’s about right. Anymore and I think you’d be paying too much.

Finally, everybody who comes over is blown away by its size, likeness and detail. Lego should be applauded for an amazing set.

Go get one! The real one that is…

          • @[Deactivated]: Lepin kit ?

They were numbered and you did each numbered bag in turn. It was better sorted than the lego kits in many ways.

  • 7,500 pieces. Imagine if you lost one under the couch!

You can buy replacement pieces from Lego directly or third party marketplaces.
Alternatively, Lego will also provide replacement pieces if they were missing from your set, I did this over Christmas for one piece for my son, arrived in about a week. They are a little particular about unique pieces where they will require proof of purchase, but for a generic piece there were no questions asked.

  • Oh my God… this is bloody tempting. Damn you OP.

  • ahhh I missed it.. I knew I should've bought i instead of falling asleep last night!
