Amazon gives Cashrewards and doesn't support Gerry GST Harvey.

    Hard pass.

    • Crappy game.

    • Amazon sucks they match everyone after jack up price

  • -4

Are people still preordering games? It's insanity.

    • +8

      It was released today…

      • -2

Oh touche. My mind was still on the 21st.

        • Buying a game on the 21st when it’s released on the 22nd is hardly a pre-order by any stretch of the imagination…

          • @pegaxs:

            Buying before release

            Preorder

No, it's still a preorder by definition. You're still giving money to a game that hasn't been released and can't be vetted.

            • @Tacooo: "by a day"

How is the developer or distributor benefiting from you buying on the 21st and not playing it for a day as opposed to buying it on the 22nd and playing it a day later?

While I don't agree with pre-ordering months out from a release (ie: No Mans Sky debacle), I would hardly consider buying the day before as even remotely in the same league as buying it a month or more in advance.

      • -1

Preorder gave u free stuff and now you buy once it's released for same price and none of those free preorder benefits? Nice good job to those that buy once it's released for exact price if any which I assume is the case or just dumb af tbh.

        • The free stuff you usually get is generally crap and either ugly if it's cosmetic or underpowered if it's a gameplay item.

  • +3

Not a great sign that it's getting so cheap already.

    • It was $55 on Amazon before the bad reviews were even out. Think it's just taking a lower initial price point.

    • Might be $5 after 14 months.

  • +8

I'd imagine you could pick this one up in a couple of months pretty cheap once the developer patches it to a complete game. Getting fairly smoked in reviews.

    • +8

Yeah what are they calling it, live access game or some crap? Like here's the empty game and we'll take your money then patch it until its a "full game" a year later…

      I'm good thanks. RIP bioware.

      • +2

Seems to be the way the industry is moving these days. I (stupidly, I know) got burnt with No Man's Sky a couple of years ago. Will now hold off until reviews before purchasing anything, rather than going on the promises of a dev.

It's unfortunate - I hope this game tanks in sales to start sending a message to devs.
I am however hoping The Division 2 doesn't suck at launch

        • Hi, I got No man"s sky about 6 months ago when it was on special (around $30) and I have to admit that they have patched it a great deal and added pretty large content dlc's (apparently they have added nearly everything they originally promised and all for free), now the game is quite good.

It should have never been released in its unfinished state but I have to have respect for the developers who could have cut and run but didn't.

      • +2

Used to be amazing, thanks EA for killing Bioware. Keep paying your "content" creators in your Game Changer program lol

  • +8

    Don't get tricked into this

Pay $20 for Origin Premier, play and realise its a bad game, and then play the entire backlog of Origin games with the $20 you spent.

  • +10

Ahh the flying Fallout 76 game 🤣

  • +1

First game to be worse than Crackdown 3. Winner.

    • +1

What if I didn't mind Crackdown 3, I might like this?

    • Fallout 76 wins

    • +1

Crackdown 3 was just a slighlty better looking Crackdown 1, which isnt even that bad… I have enjoyed Crackdown 3, mind you I paid $2 for GamePass

  • They will probably discount it way more when division 2 drops

    • Shortly before they discount The Division 2 for being utter crap like the original.

  • Judging by the reviews, that's about the right price to pay for it.

  • -1

Reviews be damned. I dig it. Great fun with mates

    • +7

Any game is fun with mates.

  • +4

    Another half-assed Titanfall/Destiny clone…

    Yeah…

    Pass.

    • -8

Lets see your 'half-assed' game i would love to see it.

      • Lol. :)

      • +1

Do you need to be a moviemaker to enjoy movies?
Do you need to be a musician to enjoy music?

If you have no opinion on quality then perhaps I should sit you down in front of endless Brady Bunch re-runs.

        • Nice dude, outplayed me. Name checks out btw.

      • Fanboy triggered

  • +2

Yeah, far too expensive. Warframe is free.

  • +1

I started playing this recently and it is actually kinda fun but way too easy, even on the harder difficulties. Very repetitive and grindy, but I enjoy Mech related games so grain of salt

If you want a timesink I recommend it it

    • In the hardest difficulty I watched a vid where they said they get 1 shot. Yes not hard indeed and way too easy. Lol

      • +1

I am not up to the hardest yet, would depend on gear too. I imagine hardest is def end game, but yeah, the AI is dumb as door nails

    • +1

      others have mentioned it,

like Skill Up's Youtube review, but AI is kind of "missing" in the game. mobs just run for you, or they spawn in controlled areas and stand around. there's no telegraphing, i.e. the Wind-Up showing they're aiming or charging, they just zombie-walk towards the nearest person.

harder difficulties just ramp up health and damage exponentially, so gear makes the critical difference,

but also, there's significant phasing/latency where you can get shot by invisible enemies or hit by grenades that don't go off until after you've died, etc. grenades and slams can 1-shot you in levelling up, and later enemies like titans, the fire-walls can hit like a truck.

      • Yeah after more time with it this weekend, these are the exact issues I faced with some of the harder missions/tasks. It is definitely the latency aspect too, which seems pretty shit to not be paired with local players/ players with bad ping.

Otherwise, as you also stated, the harder difficulties are purely gear dependent and not skill.
        Which is also disappointing.

Really enjoying it so far, take what you will, everyone has their own opinion about things and I'm loving it so far.

    • It's this type of attitude that keeps husky voiced grandmas employed on phone sex chat lines. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

      • I'm really not sure if I should see that comment as positive or negative..

    • +1

I agree. Although, I did downgrade my preorder at EB from the Legion of Dawn edition to the standard knowing full well it would drop drastically in price. I played the preview weekends and had a blast so I'm looking forward to the full story now.

I also preordered RDR2 based on the hype everyone was giving it and ended up returning it within a week. Everyone was raving how great it was and I just couldn't get into it. YMMV

      • Great idea there. I'm not saying that a $55 price tag should mean your experience is altered but I guess it makes you risk v reward a little easier to justify. I have never cared what anyone has said about games.. If I enjoy them I will, if you don't that is your problem.

  • +2

Good price at the moment, but I foresee a rapid price drop.

All hail EA, destroyer of worlds. Seriously, how could you screw up Bioware?

    • I heard that almost most of the original bioware teams as you know them didn't work on this project. Dunno if that's true or not. Regardless, you could always just install a few graphics mods and play all old bioware games again if you want while you wait for the new Dragon Age.

  • +1

This game from everything I have watched of it, is just soooooo boring. 6 Years and this is the best they could do?

    • They could do better, but they cancelled it. Check out the E3 Anthem video.

  • +3

Went to JBHIFI to price match Anthem for 55, and all I got was "We aren't price matching on this game" by a very 'uppity' lady. Like she was proud to not price match it. Seriously, they'd rather lose a customer wanting to pay for this game, a game that isn't doing too well, by a publisher who is notorious for quick price drops, just so they don't lose 10$.

Their response just completely turned me off the game and JBHIFI. It was like the universe told me don't get the game. But whoever made the decision at JBHIFI to not price match are ABSOLUTE morons. Has anyone else price matched at JBHIFI?

    • Must be store by store. Had JB brisbane city price match it to 55.

  • I did just have a chat to Ebs (Electronics Boutique Games) and they also said they couldn't price match Harvey's, bloke was very nice and apologetic. Had a feeling this would be below thier cost price. But they were happy to match Jb's 66 for me yesterday and said they would still do that for anyone today :)

  • You can also buy it from cdkeys for $64.09 and download it immediately… wouldn't you have to wait for Harveys to ship? The 2 HNs in Newcastle only got delivery of xbox and PlayStation versions. There are no PC copies instore to pick up.
