PUPGRADE

As far as I know, one of the cheapest prices yet!

The write speed and capacity of this card are great for photographers who have a camera with a high capture rate or high megapixel count.

For a wedding photographer, half a month?

    Bought one thanks OP.
While overkill for photos - I bought this to use for 4K Video recording on a A6500

    • You mean the A6400 right?
Also, write speeds are overkill for the A6500.

      • You mean the A6400 right?

The A6500 (and A6300) can both record 4K video.

  • How does the evo plus compare at half the price?

    • +1

It's hard to find extact data but here's what I found:
      - Samsung Evo Plus: write speed is Up to 60 MB/s (Up to 90MB/s for 128GB and 256GB capacities) (link)
      - Sandisk Extreme Pro: write speed is 100 MB/s (link)

FYI: when recording 4K video you really need to care about write speed. Most marketing only talks about read speed.

    • Not quite the same? I think Evo+ is MicroSD only.
This (Full Size) SanDisk is targeted at Photographers.

If you were to use the Evo+ with an adapter inside a camera it would not yield very good results IMO

      • If you were to use the Evo+ with an adapter inside a camera it would not yield very good results IMO

        Why?

        • Most of the problems come from sd/sdxc/sdhc camera compatibility and adapter issues (loose connections etc.) causing writing problems. It's another failure point which is undesirable if you're taking some important shots.

I've tried using a microSD card with an adapter for some everyday shooting (not pushing the limits at all) and it worked fine, but my sample size is 1, plenty of reports of things just not working or having errors.

          • @ENSLAVER: I've used adaptors for years on all my cameras with no problems.

It is another failure point, but so far I haven't had any problems with both photos and videos. Pretty sure lots of people here do it too.

I suppose if you're a pro wedding photographer, you'd have the budget to buy full-sized cards and not wait for cheaper micro SD cards to come around anyway. :)

  • Is this the high endurance card?
