  • Thanks OP.
    Is Yoshi's Crafted World $45 (40% off) ?

    • +1

No, that is for Fifa 19.

      • Thanks :)

    • I thought the same thing too!

    • +1

It's not even released till the 29th of March

  • +1

anyone played the Switch version LA Noire? much different to the ps3 one?

    • +2

I think if you’ve played already on any other console it’s not worth buying.

    • +3

I've played the switch but not the PS3. It was alright, I never finished it though!! I'd say same as PS3

      • It's a bit bulky on the switch as well, even with card edition - need quite a few GB of data.

    • I have it on XBOX One and Switch - pretty comparable, it definitely looks like a remastered game on both, not as crisp as recent new games. Haven't finished the game on either console, but it looks decent enough on the Switch to play.

    Nation wide?

    • +4

Saw it at Calamvale in BNE

  • +9

This may be worth braving Redbank for.

    • Hahaha

    • +2

      Yeah, comes with free shank

      • +2

        redshank plains

        • Not as bad as ipswich but funny none the less

      • +2

Can confirm free shank promo. Just need to ask the attendant in the carpark with a Dri-Fit cap, bumbag and face tatts to redeem.

Source: I live in Redbank Plains

  • +2

Same at Runaway Bay though no signs up, took the last Southpark.

They have 3 LA Noire, 1 Rocket League, lots of Fifa and at least 2 NBA left, didn't look at others.

  • None of those games at Fairfield or Wetheril Park :(

  • Southpark is good but the dlc is crazy $$$ on switch. Recommend buying it on a different system if portability doesn't bother you

  • Don't buy 2K18, it's the worst 2K and no one plays it anymore anyway.

    • i think its 2k19?

oh wiat its 18 sozmy bad

  • +1

I’d say, not worth it if u already have a copy on another console.. or if u have another console, these games would be much cheaper there..

  • Confirm it’s nationwide? Get Eb games to price match it easily.

    • mine won't because the nearby store don't have it in stock

    • +1

Last time I tried pricematching at EB, I was told the store had to be in the same centre. Which is ridiculous, what's the point then?

      • +1

I haven't been told that by any of my local EB's.

They usually just ask to see the competitor's price on my phone.

        • +1

Yeah really depends on the person you get. I hilariously used this photo and said it was the local target that I just took a photo at though, so they price matched it without question. There is nothing in this photo to suggest what store it is in(unless you're some sort of tag expert)

      • Used to be told that years ago. Not anymore though

  • +1

I just bought South Park: The Fractured But Whole from Big W Epping VIC for $19. Called them before and said they didn't have any, but walked into the store and saw it on the shelf.

  • Thanks OP managed to get a copy of South Park for $19 as well.

    • where? I wasted my afternoon hunting for that game :/

      • South Yarra.

Highpoint BigW didn't have South Park so asked the guy at the tech counter if he could locate any stock at other nearby stores.

Told me the system was showing 1 copy each at South Yarra, QV and Epping.

    • Wasn't this the title that was $9 from EB about a month ago?

  • +1

I will literally NEVER stop being annoyed about paying 60 odd bucks for South Park on Switch digitally with the season pass last year.

20 odd gig of storage when the cart is only a 3GB install, in addition to that ridiculous mark up. So annoyed. I'd be a lot more forgiving if the digital owners got a copy of Stick of Truth once that came out, like ALL versions got on XBO/PS4, but nope.

    • +4

Nintendo fans always treated as second class haha

      • +4

tbh I'm part of the problem, like, I bought Doom, LA Noire, and Wolfenstein 2 on Switch for 60 odd bucks each day one.

On the one hand, if people like me could control ourselves, they might price a bit fairer. On the other hand, if people like me don't buy the thing day one, they might go "well no one bought it so we don't bother bringing the sequel, or any of our other series' over".

Double Edged Master Sword that is buying third party games on Nintendo platforms.

        • So conflicted… I am a bit like that with cars, never buy new so no manufacturer is really making cars for me. Still, the broader your idea of what you are looking for the more likely you will find something you are satisfied with. Thats why I have a 360, XBO, Wii, 3DS, Android TV, the list goes on.

        • +2

For a good game I don't think $60 is unfair at all. Maybe I've been playing games too long but paying $60 for new releases is much cheaper than what new titles could go for in the past and given the time lapses if you factor in inflation those past prices could be much higher. If anything I think games are as affordable as ever. There were SNES titles in the mid 90's going for $120 which today is probably $150 - $160ish at a guess for a base game and nothing else.

Unless you're referring to the fact the games were 12+ months old on other consoles and were cheaper at the time of the Switch release.

Wait until consoles drop physical media and all distribution happens via a single online store with no competing outlets. There'll be no alternative and I could easily see day one prices sitting at the $100 to $120 thats popular on the Xbox store for big new releases.

          • +1

@Smigit: Talking entirely only about Switch getting older games ported over at a full price premium. I have absolutely no problem paying 60-70 day one for a game.

I mean, if you wanna talk about the price / value of games of yesteryear compared to now, there's a MAJOR amount to be said about DLC and season passes inflated significantly the cost of a game these days, where in the good old days you bought a game and you were done 99% of the time, bar the odd expansion pack.

        • I did with Doom. Totally worth it for Doom on the go.

  • +1

OP do you remember what game was $29 bottom shelf far-most right in your picture?

    • +1

Scribblenauts, didn't mention as it's been that price for some time I believe

      • Thanks. Yes Target also had it for $20 during the Octopath/Bayonetta clearance as well.

  • Great price for South Park! Can't disagree with others observing the "Nintendo tax" on that title but it's terrific as a portable game
