They sell the exact same thing at Kmart for $10, same 3x buttons on the back.
    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/rotating-star-light-project…

    • The next time I'm about to buy something, I should ask you first.

  • Does this have a timer? The ability to turn off itself after a period of time.

    • Assuming this is the same as the one from Kmart and certainly looks like it, no they don't. But you don't need to press a button to turn it on, the buttons "click in" ie if you turn it off at the power point then turn the power point back on the light will turn back on. So you could buy a timer from Bunnings or elsewhere to do this.

      • Ok thanks, that's a shame. I have one that shuts off on its own after 30 mins. Was hoping to get this as a gift but might need to keep looking.

    • I loath website articles set out like that. I just cannot get more than one scroll through them. ABC are the worst for it.

sorry about that.. this part from the article struck a chord in me..
I'm not saying don't buy from Amazon.. Personally I will think twice before ordering… ^_^

As Amazonian 1 leaves the Melbourne warehouse after a 10-hour shift, his bones are weary and his muscles ache.

He estimates he’s walked about 30km today. He’s not sure if he’s got a shift tomorrow and he’s not sure if he wants one, even though he needs the money.

His thoughts turn to the people who are receiving Amazon’s ‘smiling’ boxes, and to the man at the top of the Amazon empire, whose fortune is estimated at $140 billion.

“Sometimes I think about what Jeff Bezos is doing at that second – what gourmet food he’s eating on which of his boats or jets. And I’m driving away so exhausted, sitting in my beat-up little hot-box in freeway traffic. I think about what I could’ve done that day if I wasn’t desperate to accept every shift.

“Jeff Bezos has got the most money of any person on Earth. He’s not earning that money. That’s the money we’re making for him.”

        • Oh I meant no malice towards you, it was linked with good intentions. Many people probably don't mind that layout, I'm just over it.

Not to defend the mega rich but amazon is over 20 years old. Bezos didn't get that rich over night. He also is only worth what someone is willing to pay for the company. You could liken the statements made about bezos to any boss. The managers at most work places don't bring in any income or do any hands on work but are paid more than their subordinates. The tradie who owns his own business charges $200/m for decking but only pays the guy building it $25.

Personally I like amazon and it's mainly because of the service. If it wasn't an argument everytime for a better price or not getting crapped on when going for after sales service, places like the Harvey Norman or GoodGuys would never had to worry about JB or Amazon entering the market because the customers wouldn't have left. Now JB owns the good guys. Their ignorance of customers expectations is the downfall. Amazon treats the customer as king and reaps the rewards of it.

Back to the overworking of employees….when I worked at target during university, I hated most shifts and came home exhausted. When I was in high school I worked at the local fish and chip shop and would come home covered in grease. I learned two things, finish my education so I don't have to work in a labour job and or work for a small business.
