Weight limit? Asking for a friend.

      • +3

50kg I am pretty sure I read in the catalogue

        • +1

          :(

        • +1

Can I tape two together? One for each foot?

        • +1

correct - catalogue says 50kg limit

      • +17

Speed limit asking for a friend

        • I wonder if you can change the gearing?

      • +12

Let's buy 2 and Duct tape

    • see you can get a cheap ev's and a Aston martin too la dee da

  • +2

    Any feedback?

    • +146

Minor, depends on how hard you hit the curb

  • +79

Apparently Lance Stroll does all of his testing in this…it shows.

      • +13

and all it took was 3 of the top 5 to DNF! imagine what they could achieve if more crashed!

      • +2

Daddy Stroll, what are you doing on OzBargain?

      • +3

No god damn way there's a Stroll fan in the world, and they're on OzBargain.

      • +1

No need to be a stroll fan to see he's not as terrible as the f1 fans want him to be as a paid driver (eg Mazepin) he still gets decent results when he doesn't crash😁

        • There is that. Reality is that the Aston Martin car just isn’t up there with McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari ATM.

It might be with red bull, but Stroll isn’t a Verstappen.

Anyway, my pick for worst driver is Colapinto.

        • To be fair on Stroll, this year is one of his better ones, but if you look at his career, particularly with RP/AMR, and in particular his crashes and how they've occurred. He honestly drives like an NPC with zero awareness of what's going on around him, and his crashes continue to be rookie-like in how they occur, even just this weekend been in the Dutch GP practice sessions.

          • +1

@Buckshot: Stroll is so odd. He has moments where he looks genuinely skilled and quick, is good in the wet, but gee does he lack peripheral vision and bins the car far too often.

            • +1

@Randolph Duke: Yep, I was a bit of a fan in his Williams days. He had some great moments, but he's got the dullest personality, makes the dumbest mistakes (look at China with Ricciardo for example), and seldom owns it when he does screw up.
Then there's been years when he's blisteringly fast in the wet and has some great weekends, but they're few and far between.

If I was to distill it down to one thing, its complacency. His seat is safe no matter what and will continue to be safe for as long as his Dad protects him.
If he's in a mood and has a bad weekend, or ten, it's okay. If he hops out of bed and is in a good mood and races well, no worries! He also lacks that race-awareness that the other drivers have. The ability to avoid accidents rather than just crash into another driver and blame them, even if it's completely avoidable.

There's just no pressure on him to perform, he can't really lose his job unless another owner takes over that can get around the contractual agreements Papa Stroll will no doubt have in place to protect his son.

He's not "Drive to Survive" He's "Drive to Drive"

Also- Rocket Powered Mohawk's reveal on Stroll and how he got into F1 was enought to turn me right off. He's had everthing handed to him- and I don't think has the capacity to appreciate what he has.

    • +1

Yep, this Go Kart also has no mirrors.

  • +3

    Probably faster than the AMR25

  • +2

    Faster than the AMR25

  • +24

Finally, an Aston Martin that I can afford.

  • +1

    This or Tesla?

  • +7

Pay $100 more and get something with more speed (https://iscoot.com.au/products/razor-ground-force-rad-rod-pr…)

    • 50kg weight limit on the Razor.

Is the Aldi one also only for kids and tiny adults?

      • +5

Yes, according to another site, it's 50kg weight limit as well.

        • +1

is it a soft or hard limit?

          • @eddyah: Pretty soft frame for a 50kg limit.

            • @SetTheFaqUp: I think my eldest is too young to appreciate this…maybe in a few years on FB marketplace…

      • +1

low-speed option up to 3km/h, and high-speed option up to 6km/h
The recommended max rider weight is 50kgs, and it works on hard and flat surfaces.

        • +8

LOL, top speed 6 kph … you would get 'burned' by granny zipping past on her mobility thingy.

          • +1

@GnarlyKnuckles: My FiL just had to give up his driver’s licence and got himself one of those four wheel scooter granny mobile second hand at the village.
Interesting thing. Most families buy their granddad or grandma a brand new high end scooter, which most of the time only gets used a little while before they drop off the perch, or go into a nursing home.
So we have discovered it is not hard to get a $5000 scooter with 100kms on the clock for $750.

The sad part is he told me the other day it only has two speed settings that seem the equivalent of gearing: turtle and hare. He has only run it in turtle mode,

            • @entropysbane: Similar story with electric wheelchairs and those stand-assist electric recliners. Sadly but for obvious reasons, there are a lot out there being sold, barely used.

    • +2

Or for the rev-up of a real sort:
      (and $3K down)

this is why alonso was swearing up a storm in zandvoort

  • +1

Thanks, my first Aston Martin and F1!

  • +1

Can I ride* this alongside the e-bikes going 65km/h in the bike lane?

    *edit: drive

    • +1

      Alongside? No.

      Behind? Sure.

    • e-bikes going 65km/h in the bike lane?

      Where?

  • +35

Test drove one of these last month. I can confirm its much faster than the $26K MG ZS posted a few hours ago.

    • +15

MG owner here, this is accurate

  • +1

What will the speed of this be with 35w motors? 3kph?

    • 3 or 6, depending on the mode.
      Seems like gearing.

  • Max weight not a spec these days?

    • +5

I found another site that said 50kg weight limit, speed selection either 3.5km/h or 7km/h

      • 7kph!!! Time for my daughter to upgrade!

    • Neither is the speed nor the runtime.
(Although runtime can be estimated based on the motor power and the battery capacity).

  • +5

Don't let Stroll near this thing if you want it back in one piece.

  • Aston Martin ! Dual Motor !!

  • +6

How long until these end up on hard-rubbish collections all over Australia?

    • +1

That's where the real bargains are had.

  • +4

    Next ozb meetup vehicle?

  • +3

Finally! Here's the discount on Chinese EVs we've all been waiting for

  • +1

Would be nice to have an Offroad style E Kart with 100kg Weight limit

    • +2

Would be nice to only be 100kg :(

      • +4

Kfc's Christmas in July got us all.

    • An Aldi Raptor.

  • MARIO KART IRL?!?!

  • Is this for kids ?

    • +6

How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read… if they can't even fit inside the building?

    • +1

Yes. Unless you're under 50kg and have a smaller physique.

  • +1

    Can we mod it ?

  • +2

    The poor man's martin

  • Is this for kids, teens or adults?

    • Max weight 50 kg

    • Or old world apes?

    • Sadly it seems like it's for kids and very lightweight adults.

  • +14

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

    • +1

You never had me. You never had your car.

  • +3

Aston Martin? looks more like a lawn mower…

  • +3

This is literally what poor people buy to waste their hard earned…

    • Yeah agree, plenty of these in my area (greenacre) and the majority are on family benefit

    • I'd say Labubu's are more of a waste

      • +1

I mean I don't know about the Labubu's but this car would be used once or twice and then go on FB marketplace…. or just rot in a garage while 5 cars are parked outside.

  • Road ready? :p

  • 12v. Garbage.

  • The problem with these things is where do you store them??

    • +2

      In your Aldi shed.

    • Where do you ride them? On the footpath as cars are reversing out of their driveways?

      • No idea I wanted to know if this was usable at like a public park maybe but I have a feeling it won't be so maybe a friend's big farm or rural backyard.

At least thats the idea I came up to when I was dreaming of getting a go kart during COVID times when I first tried a ride on mower.

  • Does it have a differential with cv shafts to the wheels and independent suspension?

  • +2

I will knock down seven pensioners to acquire this.

  • Really want to buy this….. all I need is a reason…. any reason….

    Anyone?

    • It will go up in value? I mean even if you buy it and don't want it you will resell for your buying price so buy now, decide before christmas.

      • It will most likely depreciate quicker than a real Aston….

Can't think of a use case for it. No deal.

  • How does this tackle the downforce & is the DRS enabled when I want to overtake Williams?

  • +1

Designed by Adrian Newey no less!

  • -1

I think it is the same (or very similar) to this:

    https://dabdoob.com/en-QA/product/aston-martin-f1-team-12v-g…

would have been cooler to have had this

    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dynacraft-12V-Aston-Martin-Aramco…

  • +4

Where can this legally be driven in NSW?

Asking for my 3 year old

    • +1

The 73 yo also has the same question

    • Hopefully someone can answer this because I'm asking for my 37 year old friend who just wants to drive this at the public park/cricket field/soccer field.
