Travala is a Next-gen Online Travel Agency (NOTA) which has just entered the space, and already has over 567,000 hotels in 210 countries, with plans to have add a further 1 million properties next month.

Seems they are on average 15% cheaper than booking.com in all my searches, however if you search for hotels within the next 2 months, you can really get some ripper savings.

I've provided some examples of searches below, which as I said, are mostly for travel within the next 2 months, however I am sure many of you can search and see if you can find any bigger savings!

Examples:

They have a great referral system up and running as well, which should appeal to all OzBargainers. For every person you refer that spends $50 in on a booking, you will receive $20 of their travel credits (AVA) to use on your next booking.

      best to use an Amex card then, as most bank Visa or MC cards will charge the forex fee even if you get billed in AUD.

        Amex cards in AU charge oversea transaction fees too. Only Coles MC and ANZ Travel Adventure VISA dont charge oversea fees. Plus a few others such as 28 Degree MC and Bankwest MC cards.

      You can pay in AUD, it’s just the side displays in USD by derfault. You can just fix that at the top of the website / drop down menu

    Had a try and wasn't cheaper for Tokyo Japan in November. In fact, if I incorporate cash backs and other credits - this site is more expensive.

    Incidentally - travala can't find the Hoshinoya Hotel in Tokyo.

      Those dates are definitely cheaper on booking.com for those hotels mate!

      Travala is simply another great resource which will find you huge savings at times, but can't win the price war every time.

      I would assume that when they add another million hotels next month, that hotels like the Hoshinoya Hotel should be available.

      All I can do is try to find savings of over 30%, and hopefully someone will find them useful.

      How is it not a deal? Travala may be more expensive than some, but I've posted multiple deals with over 30% saving compared to booking.com. Imagine if you happen to be travelling to one of those places and wanted to stay there in the next 2 months? I just saved you over 30%. That is the definition of a deal, and why Ozbargain was created.

      Hey mate, not all are going to be cheaper, at least not until they have every property that booking.com has. Hopefully by the end of next month (too late for your upcoming booking though which sucks)

    Anyone done the comparison between club1 and this site for prices? I don't have paid membership on club1 so I cannot check the price difference.

    I used Travala to book one of my rooms late last year and saved about $100 on 2 nights at a Rydges hotel.

    Worth checking them out when making comparisons to other sites.
