    The arlo 2 setup doesn't actually have a local not does it? Does it store the recordings on the newyear cloud and you have you pay a subscription?

      Proviso to the previous comments is that the system is still heavily cloud-dependent despite the local storage function. If you have local storage enabled and the internet connection is cut, it'll continue to perform and locally store motion-activated recordings as previously configured, but you won't receive alerts, can't view recorded videos or a live feed, and can't make configuration changes. In other words, you can't directly access and control Arlo over your local network.

          Even if it isn't internet visible, it should still remain visible over the local network.

          Eg, if you're changing internet service providers, so your internet is down, you should still be able to use wifi to view your security footage, but in this case you can't.

        Buy a Netgear Nighthawk M1. It has SIM card.
        If home invader cuts the mains internet cable, Arlo will switch to the Nighthawk wifi.

        Also, buy a UPS. If home invader cuts the mains power to the house, Arlo base station will switch to UPS for power.

    It's a bit silly that the spotlight requires a different base station than the cameras. Surely they could have solved whatever the issue was to also make it compatible with the camera base station.

    Just a warning, had arlo Pro 2 cam system for 2 years, but got 3 faulty battery in that period, lucky I was able to claim refund back on warranty. So I don't know, like the system, but battery seems to be lemon..

    Yeah, best price I’ve seen.
    I really want to get the Argo Ultra, but my internet connection just isn’t good enough (I sync at 1.5MB/s).

    The Arlo Pro 2 does seem to be the pick. 1080p should be good enough, and the 7 days’ free cloud storage is great.
    They don’t even give you any cloud storage in the upcoming Arlo Ultra.

          As long as they are full hd, you can easily recognise human face from 5-10m away.

      It's a very competitive price but considering the Arlo Ultra (newer version) is coming out soon then Yes i would say the price could very well drop below this in 6 months, especially at end of financial year. In saying that, you can still install these wire free until you get the electrical work done.

    I’m more concerned that now that Arlo has spun off from Netgear they are pushing their subscription models and only a matter of time before the 7 days free cloud disappears… that’s what actually is holdin me back from recommending it to more people seeing that’s how the new Ultra camera subscription works for only one year.

      I received a claim denied email and then without doing anything a claim accepted email two days later. My receipt clearly shows payment by Paypal

        I got my claim validated. I log on to wireless1 website and use the invoice I found there to claim the gift card on the cashback link. Below is the reply after 2 days from Arlo.

    I contacted Wirless 1 as my claim was also declined ( Now accepted). Looks like Wirless 1 has spoken to Arlo and fixed the issue regarding their statement.

    It looks like there's an issue from Arlo's side. It looks like it's happening to all channels except for national retailers (such as JB-Hi Fi, Harvey Normal, etc) because we are not selling at RRP, Arlo has a look at the invoice and thinks that it's not paid in full.
