Thanks for the feedback Scratch2k! We love sharing good Deals!

      From

      • So I signed up and paid and got an email which was a little ambiguous. I sent the subscription as a gift and the recipient got an email also but it wasn't clear what to do next, if anything. Is she already subscribed? Do I have to do something else to activate the subscription?

        • Same here. I am sure the screen when I did the transaction said that there is nothing else to do and just wait for the first delivery. I still don't understand why it is giving the voucher number after that.

        • Hi Scratch2k,

The beauty of this Deal is that you don't need to do anything! The gift recipient just need to wait for the June 2011 edition to arrive at their doorstep, provided that you did put their correct delivery address on our website when you bought the Deal.

          Thanks,
          The OurDeal team

        • Thanks,

I am sure I put the correct details but I don't think it asked me for a name or did it?
Is there a way to check the details provided?

        • Same problem here, I entered my address details when I made the purchase and signed up to OurDeals at the same time but then saw the clause about needing to have your address updated BEFORE completing the purchase to went to my account on OurDeals and my address was blank. I updated it there but now don't know if there will be a problem…

  • Great, just ordered, thanks!

  • tried to buy the item, forgot my password, used the "forget password" linked, and second later, received email from ourdeal WITH MY PASSWORD in it!!! what a badly done and unsecured website! It means whoever can access the database can have your unencrypted login, and highly possibly your credit card information - unencrypted!

I have to agree although I have seen this practice with other businesses.
I also noticed that the password setup only asks for the password to be entered once (and not twice) so you can easily make a mistake.

I would have liked also to have a paypal option as I don't like to put my CC details on website I don't know. I just tried and apparently they have a problem with a Westpac outage. I will still get this deal though.

      K.

        Hi cloud226 and kar200,

        Thanks for your feedback.

Our 'forgot your password' functionality is a standard business practice and we do not store any credit card information on our website. The user must also have access to the email account in question in order to view/receive the email.

With regards to PayPal, we do actually use this on our back-end system to process any payment. Furthermore, all of our transactions are secure (SSL). We can assure you that your transactions with us are safe.

        The OurDeal team

'forgot your password' functionality is standard, the way your website storing and retrieving the information is non-standard, aka unsecured. you need to encrypt the password to prevent anyone abuse it. And when user forgets password, you generate a new one. that is the standard business practice.

      • Hi kar200
