Want to Change My Apple Watch 40mm to 44mm at The Good Guys

Hey there

Looking for some advice here. I bought an apple watch series 4 40mm yesterday at TGG, but after trying the watch at home I think I should have got the 44mm one.
Can I go to the store and ask for a change and pay the extra? or TGG does not cover change of mind returns?

I'm looking to return the watch today, less than 24h after the purchase.

Thank you

Read this https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/terms-and-conditions, then go talk to the store and ask?

    • I bought a TV from JBhifi but was not satisfied with screen size. At store requested that I want to upgrade the TV. They were happy to accept more money. I changed within 24 hours.

Literally 100% up to TGG discretion. Go in and ask. But:

but after trying the watch at home

I assume you've opened and unsealed it, so I don't rate your chances highly. But it's free to ask.

    • Thanks mate, will do

Just wondering if someone else had a similar scenario.

      Cheers,

I don't think many of us go trigger happy and blow $400+ on a item without doing any background research.

It's against the Terms and Conditions of this website.

          • @Kangal: But I thought the terms was buy bargain, think later

      • Even if someone here had a similar scenario, its still up the stores discretion, they can say no. Regardless of what people say here, in the end, if you want a chance of changing, you still have to visit them.

        • But someone on Ozbargain said i could exchange it

The answer is mot likely not… look at it like this if they took it back which they are not obliged to doo what can they do with it. Would you be happy paying full price for a watch that someone returned…

  • please try and share your finding

I mean, even if they decide to change it on this occassion, its still a ymmv situation, leaning very heavily towards the no side.

  • Best of luck but IMHO the 44mm is the go to for this watch, and I'm a tiny woman with small wrists. It is all about the display real estate. To a certain degree that is why you buy from the Apple store instead of TGG; Apple has a 30 day return policy, if you buy direct.

  • Thank you everyone, After a couple of minutes with the manager we found it wasn’t possible :(

    Next step, eBay…

    • Can you turn on your PM or PM me please

One of the biggest reasons for buying at a Apple Store. Much better chances of getting it swapped in this situation.

Cant you return it to an Apple store?

    • Apple would have no reason to buy an opened item purchased from a different store.

Are you sure that's the case though? I mean has OP actually asked?

Their 14 day return policy is pretty generous.

If they let you do this I'm going to try returning my TV for a full refund and get a bigger one. Only had it for 10 years so should come out with a fist full of cash and a new TV.

  • Because it's a wearable device and therefore deemed not resaleable due to hygiene laws. So the answer will likely be a No. Same applies to shavers, hair care appliances, toothbrushes and headphones. Some manufacturers offer a money back guarantee but never Apple.
