What's a cheap phone for VR experiences (sub-$300).
We are wanting to provide students with VR, however most solutions don't appear to be classroom friendly nor affordable for 10x units. Windows MR requires a PC with discrete graphics, Oculus GO doesn't have Google Expedition or Earth, so it looks like a phone is best… Providing we can find one that is affordable with a display that's no completely jank.

I think the cheapest from this list is the ZTE Axon7. On release, it was about AU$450 in USA, but was marketed as AU$800 here in OzLand.
In the last 18-30 months, there have been bargains for it for around AU$300-$400 though. The ASUS ZenFone is a close second, but it also suffered from availability in Australia.
The cheapest would probably be to get a Used Phone from gumtree, whatever from that list (probably the Pixel 1). Not to mention there's the international grey market if you use something like eBay. Good Luck.
