Switching from ALDI to Boost - Worth It?

I'm in Sydney metro. I know Boost has "full" Telstra while Aldi has a different/lesser version. Is there likely to be a noticeable improvement If I switch? I've found Aldi pretty good and certainly better than Optus.

Would appreciate views of anyone that has made this change.

  • I did not buy Boost just because they are on Telstra network which sucks big time for me except at remote locations. Cheers

        1) The coverage of Boost is better than Telstra at remote locations,
        2) vivmahi doesn't go to remote location expect when the want to sucks big time,
        so,
        3) vivmahi did not buy Boost which sucks big time.

You'll only notice a major difference in regional areas.
If you're in the city almost exclusively or only travel to reasonably well populated areas that would be covered by Optus, then the difference is marginal.

Absolutely worth it for me. Boost has WiFi calling and Aldi doesn't. Makes a very big difference in marginal reception areas.

  • I am just wondering how you know Boost has "full" Telstra while Aldi has a different/lesser version? I am on Aldi and found very good, just curious how you found this out.

  • I'm in a crappy zone (for all networks). Previously had Telstra but downgraded to Aldi to save some coin. There was an immediate difference, around a bar on average less, but still much better than optus and voda.

  • I switched from Boost to ALDI last September. For rural areas it works fine

  • I'm on boost, one thing I noticed is they advertise the rollover of data only applies to the $30+ plans but it's also being applied to my $20 plan (interestingly looking on the boost website it states that as well which I swear wasn't there before, also they have 6 & 12 month options which I havne't noticed before tempted by the 12 month $150 plan)

  • Bit of an old forum but thought I ll still post here so it can help someone.

I moved from Aldi to Boost recently, being in Sydney metro there shouldn't be a big difference but I noticed that with Boost when I am indoor at my work premises in Bella Vista and even at shopping center in Castle Hill I am getting full bars compared to barely one bar on Aldi.

So according to me being on Boost ll help compared to Aldi even in metropolis

However boost mobile app sucks. Aldi have better app - but who cares
