  • FWIW, Flying Power at Aldi is 99c and tastes exactly like Red Bull.

    • Really! Do they come in 250ml cans?

      • I think so - they definitely feel similar to the red bull cans.

      • Yep - they’re worth a try!

    • +8

Their taste is OK, but they taste 'Nothing' like Red Bull.

    • There's a sugar free one too.

    • +1

I like flying power. But if definitely does not taste like red bull.

I've been looking for years for a cheaper alternative to Red Bull and nothing comes close.

      • Really? I found it really similar. I might have to do a blind test to check again.

        • -3

One blind test doesn't prove anything, you could just toss a coin once.

@Diji1: Just a quick comparison then.:)

    • +1

      So… This isn't a good deal?

      /confused

      • :D Personal choice.

    • It's like saying that all lager beer tastes the same. Yes - but also no.

This Enery Drink typo has been there forever.

    I'm losing sleep.

    (Maybe it's the Enery drink).

    • +1

      I'll have whatever you're smoking

      • +2

Am I the only one seeing the typo in the preview picture?

        • +1

Yeh mate just you.Edit it's there lol, top right of preview picture.

        • +3

Good catch. I'll still have whatever you're smoking.

    • +1

      Came here for this

  • +1

Great price. This is the first time I've seen red bull below $6 per litre

  • +1

Red bull zero is great! Thanks

  • What’s the difference between zero and sugar free?

    • -1

      zero tastes bad, less carbonated.

Always always go with sugarfree (there both 0 calories)

  • The Aldi generic energy drinks are the exact same thing as red bulls (made in Austria) and cost only 99c. They come in both sugar and sugar free varieties.

    • +1

Is it written on the can? I thought I was going crazy with others saying earlier that Flying Power doesn’t taste like Red Bull.

    • +2

They are not "exactly the same". You can place a blindfold on me and I can tell you which is which.

  • Does anyone know if the original or the sugar free is healthier?

    • Neither

    • -1

      Both will kill you eventually.

      • Everything will kill you. It’s the sugar v sweetener question

    • +1

Drink water for hydration if you want to be healthier. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep so you don’t need artificial stimulants to keep you going.

    • I go for the original.
I've read the artificial sweeteners can be harmful but they aren't absorbed by the body so if you're okay with the taste why not.
The original, well sugar isn't that bad for you in moderation. I find it also helps to give you an energy boost.

~$5 per litre. Makes you wonder how much profit is in these things because RB seem to have a pretty big marketing budget! heck! they even have a pretty good Formula 1 team, and those things don't come cheap.

    • +1

      Actually, they have two ;)

    • +1

Sugar, water, flavourings, a few chemicals. It's incredibly cheap to make even if they have to ship it from Austria. Wouldn't surprise me if it's shipped at less than 10c a can.

      • But they made from Switzerland why have to ship from Austria?

  • +1

these are half price either at coles or woolies every second week….. just stock up with a few, no deal,.. well i mean if this is whats making the top posts now, well i hardly think its good anymore

  • Are energy drinks good for health in general?

    • +1

      no

  • -1

Mother is $3.43 per litre at both Coles and Woolies.

    • not the same. nothing is the same as Red Bull.

  • What's an Enery Drink Coles?

  • Is there anywhere that you can bulk buy redbull in Australia / even online that is cheaper than this?
