Coles Morley No Refunds/Exchange/Coles Gift Card without a Receipt

From now on Coles Morley will not refund/exchange/Coles gift card without a receipt. While other Coles allow, don't know why Morley is like that?

Did you ask them? I would assume they are getting targeted wirh fraudulent refunds, why else?

I got thousands of Coles receipt and it will take some time to find the correct one. Wished they just exchanged or Coles Gift card instead.

Maybe it isn't everyone… maybe they are targeting those that hoard receipts…

Pro-tip: Take a photo of receipts for expensive items. They'll be saved and automatically date-stamped.

        • The item was very cheap was something like less than or equal to $3. Not even expensive. This item was not on sale RRP.

@Daabido: The item is less than or equal to $3, you couldn’t get a refund so you wrote on ozbargain forum… you truely belong here mate

Edit: oops, pressed the wrong reply button.

Needing a receipt for refund/exchange is the norm. Not requiring it is doing you a favour.

Buy for reduced price on OB, return it to coles = profit

don't know why Morley is like that?

Too many people ripping them off would be a good guess.

What did the Duty Manager say when you asked them?

Still trying to work out what you mean?

    • Think OP is trying to do a refund or exchange without a receipt.

      • Yeah, I've got it now the "/Coles Gift Card" had me confused.

  • So they won't do any sort of exchange, or refund, without a receipt?

I think this is what you're saying, just that people aren't seeing the "/" next to Coles gift card.

Seems fair to ask for a receipt unless it's a Coles branded item.

No doubt the locals are stealing, then going up and asking for a refund or store credit on the item they stole. Steal something valuable and return for store credit to use on other items.

Doesnt even have to be stealing

They could buy something that is heavily discounted at woolies or iga and bring it back to coles for more money

Given the op says they have 1000’s of receipts you have to wonder

About six months ago, Coles Kings Meadows, TAS, said Coles' new policy is to only refund Coles branded items without a receipt.

    • That makes sense but they are still open to people buying at discount and asking for full refund. But probably low end enough this isn’t a worthwhile scam. It is beyond me why people think they are entitled to a refund without a receipt, the goods could’ve come from anywhere.

      • Coles branded items are never on sale.

Ah, thanks for the info. That explains it then. Cheers.

  • Morley, enough said.

tbh they dont need to refund without proof of purchase AND its faulty

    • I tried to return some baked beans, because they were neither a magical fruit, nor did they make me toot.

Apparently that didn't qualify as "faulty".

  • Under ACL, they don't have to offer you a refund nor exchange if the item is not faulty or not as described.

Change of mind returns are a goodwill gesture only.

    • Damn, I should have gone with "not as described"

      • That depends on the product of course…

  • Sometime is a problem when you are buying few things that less than $30 and the machine will ask you if you would like a receipt, then you may click No therefore you have no receipt

You can try to refund from Woolworths then? they dont need receipt if the item is below the thread hold(dont know how much)
