I've heard people say these are the best plain shirts money can buy. Can anyone confirm?

    • +5

I heard Uniqlo U Tees are better than Supima.

      • +2

They definitely are. The Uniqlo U ones are my favourite basic tees. Their quality is so good for the price.

      • +3

Yes but not twice as good.

I bought 2 of these Supima shirts during the last sale and TBH I don't rate them as anything special, and I definitely wouldn't buy them at their regular price. I also got a few of the UNIQLO U Tees and I like those better. It's hard to describe but the cotton feels nicer to wear. However, I'm not sure if all U Tees are made the same way, so check the reviews before buying.

      • Honest question - is there anything better for the price though? I find them quite comfortable, but if there are better options, I'm open to change

      • Bought 2 during last sale.

Material is slightly on the thin side. Fit is ok. For those that want a thicker substantial feel, these may not suit you. Conversely, it wears cool and light.

        Hope it helps someone.

For thicker shirts, the UT collection is better. I bought a few of their SPRZ NY shirts and the cotton is nice and thick. Can't see nipples. I wear the Supima shirts at home mostly now.

      • I have been wearing these shirts for years . I can vouch for these as compared to other cheap shirts from Kmart BigW.
Other shirts stretch especially around the collar , whereas these shirts held strong

    • i love these! would definitely stock many of these.

In Japan they were 3 for about $18 but

    • Personally I like them. Very soft and comfy. Thin material but I prefer that to thick t-shirts.

    • +2

My experience has been mixed but generally positive. I've bought 3 so far, 2 of which have been great even after a couple of washes and one that seems to be much thinner than the other 2. If you don't care about buying branded, these are probably your best bet. IMO they're definitely better than the ones you find at Kmart. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for these though

    • Yes.

    • Can agree. Have yet to try out Asos' T range but I always go there for their singlets. It's longer than usual though

      • +1

ASOS shirts are generally pretty trashy. Don't get them unless they're like $2.

    • as colour range?

    • These are the best. I've got several. Theyre good quality, comfy and don't shrink

    • They are good, just a little smaller than Kmart. I normally fit in a medium in Kmart sizing, but large for Uniqlo.

I’m still looking for prices on local Gildan resellers, but I think the list of resellers is some big secret or something because I can’t find it anywhere.

    • I can confirm. I find these fit better than U Tees, make me feel more macho :)

Just need to get blue and wine then I will have the complete set.

So who has a free shipping code?

  • These are very good for $10. I've found they do wear out relatively fast though. I think AS Colour tees at approx $20 are much better value, will last more than twice as long.

  • Do they have this promotion in store or is online only?

    • Available in store

    a aint buying 6 shirt tho….

Anyway, whats the sizing like on these, I wear an XL and its snug when I buy from kmart. Similiar sizing?

    • they are true to size

  • Can anyone compare these to AsColour staple tees? They're my go-to.

    • +3

Uniqlo feels comfier in the very short term but much thinner and wears out much faster, stick with AS Colour imo

      • +2

ASCoulour is a much thicker (IMO nicer) material then the supima cotton shirts at Uniqlo. The UT collection is a closer match, however I still find ASColour to be of better quality and price.

      • Thanks!

      Use these for PJ

      • Yeah, I use the ones I bought for PJs. Good deal and well liked by most, but IMO inferior to my American Apparel shirts. RIP AA, I miss you.

Went into UNIQLO to purchase a few of these T-shirts. As others have stated, they feel soft but the fabric is rather thin. The white is practically see through. Went to Zara and got some $20 white T-shirts which are softer, thicker material and come in varying fits.

    • +8

yeah fabric is rather thin if u have hairy chest like me not good as the hair comes out thru the cotton sometimes LOL… anyway I d rather go hugo boss at cotsco I got 3 pack plain T for $33 very happy with their cotton & fit my 2c
I agree with u on zara their BASIC Ts are really really great

      • Haha yep I've had that happen too

  • Brought 2 last time! Great tees!

  • +1

    A plain t-shirt for $10 is a deal?

    • +1

      yes

    • +1

It's UNIQLO Supima Cotton, the cotton is softer than big w tshirt, in my opinion,
      and it's $9.90 only

  • hate how big the sleeves are on these

  • +1

Just got 7 to qualify for free shipping. Thanks OP.

  • +1

i dont like those, too thin

  • I don't find the Supima any better quality than the 'regular' UNIQLO t-shirts (not sure what the regular ones are called, 'regular dry-packaged' or something?)

    • +1

hmmm.. I have 6 Suprima ones and 6 dry-packaged ones which I wear on a regular basis, Suprima one is hands-down better quality?

Compared to the dry-packaged one, Suprima cotton ones:
      - Don't shrink as much
      - Don't pill (dry-packaged one pilled after around 8-10 washes)
      - significantly smoother and softer
      - fits nicer (for me)

      YMMV I suppose.

  • Haven't got any plain t-shirts, and at this price, worth the gamble.
Hopefully they are suitable and comfortable

  • +4

not many colours in my size
I blame the chap who keeps posting those Connoisseur specials

  • +1

I don't need any more of these. I don't need any more of these…

  • I'm not too tall. I went to try some out and they're super long. Even the xs and s sizes were too long for me by at least 10cm but the chest is fine. The basics sold by target and big w last year fit quite well however this year, they're too long. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

  • 5% discount through cash rewards and shop back as well

  • I'm getting them at normal price, website says $9.90 but in the cart they are $14.95?

    Is anyone else getting this?
